The assumption being that he had full control over selection which has been firmly established that he never had despite what was claimed.
He had a say is all, was regularly vetoed and we've now gone backwards because the next coach/s will once again have less or none or may be on the same page with folk with agendas or simply not know enough about the game.
Solely blaming Chatara is really ugly anyway. Batters could have done better, fielding could have been a bit sharper and bowling changes were poor.
The captain can easily veto a bowling selection he doesn't like simply by not bowling him. In a normal team he has to be happy with the selections as well and in fact has a big say.
I want to know why you need Chigumbura and Mutendira as selectors at all when you have Houghton, Matsi, Kirby and Raza, who have infinitely more experience, and were infinitely better cricketers, are there on the ground and hands on all the time, not in another country or still in bed nursing a brutal hangover. On top of that the senior players also know exactly what they're doing and who should be playing in any given game. It stinks.
Don't give Muddy any credit whatsoever or we'll be swamped with even more nonsense and we've got more than enough already. We've already gone from FinGaz status to H-Metro with some of the bullshit on here.
