Matt welch can make a really serious case for himself by racking up the logan cup runs this month
Make a case for himself for a test match?
I don't see how 4 day runs help the cause for other formats.
It should at least get him into some starting line ups in other formats. He's a very strong T20 player.
Hes also not as good yet as his brother. Nw has had a poor run, not assisted by some criminal LBW decisions.
We have two tests to Bangladesh in April 2024 plus 20/20 matches

Raza got a 10k performance based bonus  I guess it will have to work both ways. He deserves it though. As frustrating as he is sometimes, we would be dead and buried without him

All the countless hours of hard work and world class skill to earn what the hierarchy earn in 2 weeks for mostly doing nothing. Seems fair ....

Aka Capitalism :D

The top 1% now own something like 40% of the worlds wealth whereas the middle 80% only own 60%.

So the question is why should the ICC or ZC be any different?

BCCI + ECB + CA take 95% of the ICC revenue while the remaining 100 boards split up the other 5%.

Sri Lanka have selected a full strength squad and this is a home series for them. I expect Zimbabwe to get thrashed. Even one win out of six would be difficult.

TM has a valid point about underperforming cricketers. In saying that, he and Bvute have been the constant that have overseen these failures.

What have they done to develop grassroots cricket? What have they done to provide the current national team with a coaching staff that would elevate their game? We have a batting coach in Matsi who has failed over and over and yet he keeps his spot. We have an U19 coach who has not produced a player that has gone through to the national side and maintained a spot.

Players like Shumba and Wes -whom much was expected of- have stagnated significantly.

Have they considered hiring a team psych, or an analyst? What have they done to develop cricket within schools? What have they done to develop A side tours?

Let's not forget, TM is the guy who fought tooth and nail to have suspended when SRC stepped in. He is the same person who said he doesn't have to be here but refuses to hand over the game to people who actually know cricket. He oversaw the killing of Taibus UK tours, and the closure of academies simply because they were not ZC ones.

Yes we need underperforming cricketers to take some accountability and face some consequences, but when you look at the current ODI and T20 squad they selected for Sri Lanka, in his words, underperforming players only means non black cricketers. There are players in both sides who do not merit being there.

On a side note, can't believe there are people here actually blaming Raza as the sole reason we did not qualify for the T20 World Cup.

TM has overseen massive stagnation and has given jobs to his mates, not to people who would develop the game or who know what they are doing. Why is Hammy allowed to play in leagues around the world when he is supposed to a director of some sort? What exactly can TM point to as real progress and development?

He has overseen Namibia and Uganda progressing and us regressing. He thinks that simply because we are Zim and had a agreat side in the 90's and early 00's, we can just show up and win. We should be pulverising the rest of the African nations, but we are not and TM must take responsibility for this.

On top of this,
Why hasn’t he fired Nick Singo for turning Queens into a strip club?
That is the definition of a firable offence.
TM looks weak not standing him down.
