I hope so too. If you look closely when Gumbie was dismissed, Ervine did actually pat his back when he was walking out. Shows that deep down he knew it wasn’t his fault. Nobody can blame him to be honest. He did the best he could and unlike the first game he was hitting them straight to the fielders.

We might all initially celebrate if he isn’t picked then Raza gets cleaned up by a Taskin 145kph Yorker in the second over and Williams following him after mistiming a 140kph bouncer. Team selection is not as easy as we make it sound. Gumbie had to absorb a lot of great deliveries but for the sake of progress let’s try something else and see how it goes

Taskin has seriously improved. Might be world class at the moment.

Taskin is the hardest working bowler to come out of Bangladesh. When he got dropped from the side in 2017, he was gone for several YEARS. He wasn't in the 2019 World Cup squad to England, and no one cared, because he had been so poor for so long. He made his comeback in 2021 after the pandemic and impressed selectors and fans alike. He's been one of our best seamers across formats since then. But it was largely due to his work ethic. When he was dropped from the team, he worked on things like fitness all by himself.

In addition to Taskin, I think Shoriful, Ebadat, and Tanzim Hasan Sakib have all done very well also. I believe they are all close to being world class, if they aren't already.

Gumbie should be dropped through no fault of his own, still madness he was ever put in that position. Campbell will keep the seat, Sean likely back in, and seems like Welly will be back.

1. Ervine
2. Marumani
3. Bennett
4. Williams/Burl if Sean is still injured
5. Raza
6. Campbell
7. Madande
8. Jongwe
9. Welly/Ainslie
10. Ngarava
11. Blessing

I would drop Marumani for Burl but unlikely to happen. Still laughable he is in the national side.

What I am curious about is a two day concussion. If you're actually concussed it's at least 2 weeks, it's a brain bleed and not to be treated lightly.
