Starting a thread for this tournament.

USA with a win over Canada in the first game. Good match but the level of commentary was quite poor. They were making it sound as if USA are beating a world champion team and were yelling "USA are you entertained?" Although most of the people there appeared to be from the Subcontinent.

At one stage in their excitement they forgot who is the striker and were attributing it to Jones although Gous was the one who hit the six. They didn't even bother to correct themselves. Cheap stuff.

Hurts not to are Zimbabwe in there.

I wonder if our "selectors" admonish themselves when we lose? Or do they just think the players are conspiring against them?

I’m pretty sure 99% were from the USA. Who on Earth is travelling from the subcontinent to Dallas just to watch USA and Canada?

Anyway it was a pretty good game! Commentary is always terrible at ICC events.

It is depressing. I’m rooting for Taibu and Rusere - at least there’s some Zimbabweans involved

I was surprised how high quality it was actually. We would have struggled to compete

I'm predicting a few upsets in this WC. I'm amazed at how well UsA and Canada played. Some great bowling and batting. We'd struggle against either team.

True, of course. But it’s also nice they turned out last night. About 5,000 people watching USA and Canada in Texas of all places is pretty cool.

I've tried watching Baseball a few times, it was more fun having root canal.

Gordon is a good bowler. If he gets that bit of movement throughout this tournament he's going to pick up some big scalps
