Sri Lanka Zim 2nd ODI 31Aug 2025

Post by Googly »

Tomorrow's selection will be interesting.
I doubt BT will keep, which means Madande will play.
Not sure who sits out in that case.
Judging from ZC's rant Evans may be replaced by Masakadza. If they're going to pick Masakadza then Gwandu should be sitting out, but that's not how it works.
Once again for the Green Label brigade, Evans bowled extremely well, exactly the first change bowler we need.

They might put Bennett down the order? He's currently on a really lean spell, you'd think he's starting to feel the pressure.

They will keep Wes. He actually looked good for his ten deliveries, I'm not being funny, he looks in good touch.

I think it’s not right to change the 11 after one game but Madande needs to play if BT is not fit to keep.

To me the only viable swap is Madhevere for Madande. Again it’s harsh on Madhevere but Munyonga hit runs.

Surely they won’t drop Evans, if a pacer sits out it has to be Gwandu. Tbh I would even give Blessing a break, he is not bowling at his best as he has been none stop bowling.

Noticed Campbell played for the rangers today. A bit strange in the middle of a series. He was probably only named to save face but then cast aside yet again.

We do need a specialist spinner though.

I'm not averse to the 4 seamer selection. Raza and Williams did an ok job. We're still looking for a spinner that takes wickets and is a handful to face. If theyre going to put Cremer in the qualifiers they should surely be giving him as much game time as possible, regardless of the format.
He's probably our best spinner. It was worrying that he went wicketless against Sogo the other week. That was his first challenge against good batters and they dealt with him fairly comfortably.

U sure Masakadza is still injured? Him vs Evans was the discussion on X. Evans needs to be our first change seamer. Theyre blind if they cant see that.

The real discussion will be Cremer or Masakadza soon enuf.

Still early but the ground is looking empty. Were there more people during the first one?
