Streak to play again?

Can't help but wonder if Heath Streak would consider playing international cricket again seeing that he's back in Zimbabwe. I know he's been appointed the bowling coach but he'd still have alot to offer even at the age of 35.

I would have thought it very unlikely, he was suffering badly at the end of his Warwickshire contract and finished his proper career then, which is 2 years ago now.

Since then he has only messed about in the Hong Kong Sixes and the ICL and hasn't even played ICL since November last year, one should also remember that the old boy is getting on for 36 now as well ;)

We had some talks about it in the past here in ZCF. I personally would have liked to see him playing national cricket again but it's not possible now. I think that he isn't mentally in this position too. Yes, Streak last played FC cricket in 2007 for Warwickshire and he lost a bit of pace of late there. Since then played in the ICL but wasn't in the best of his form. I always thought his batting would be a valuable add in the Zimbabwean lineup. But he has made it clear that he doesn't think he is fit enough to play international cricket again. He thinks he is best suited in the coaching role and he would love to perform this work.

I recently whatched Streak in the IPL, and i must say he has dramatically lost pace. From bowling in the mid to high 130's, to bowling in the mid to high 120's is a huge dip in pace for any fast bowler. But as you say, he could have been more than handy with the bat in this zimbabwean side :P
But its great to see him in the thick of things yet again, but this time for the better :D
