I know a few people were wondering, so...

Points will be allocated as detailed below:
1. Outright win: 10
2. Tie or draw on double innings: 6
3. First innings points will be awarded only for batting and bowling performances in the first 100 overs of each first innings regardless of the result of the match as follows:

i. Batting bonus points: 1 point will be awarded upon reaching 175 runs. 1 point will then be awarded thereafter for every 50 runs scored.

ii. Bowling bonus points: One point each to be awarded for the fall of the 3rd, 5th,7th and 9th wickets. Only a maximum of 4 points shall be awarded.

If play starts with less than 10 hours of playing time remaining, a one innings match will be played. No bonus points will be awarded and the winning team will be awarded 6 points.

Thanks for that maehara.

What a strange scoring system though, two sides could grind out a real bore draw and pick up 6 points each while another can put in a brilliant display of batting and bowling for a win and only collect an additional 4 points, scoring systems like this are often the guilty party to teams just playing out draws instead of making that extra effort for a result.

Whatever the rules are, and they are the same for each side, it will be down to our 5 captains and the coaches to make the games as positive as possible, these first two games have both been exciting results so the season has got off to a great start :D

Yes, i know, it's me back again

cricinfo, i thnk i'm right in saying, does make the odd error every now and again .......

According to their Logan Cup points table Rhinos are top, :D , with 14 points, HOW ?

Rhinos 1st innings was 319 off 108 overs, so surely that must have been 3 points, Tuskers all out in 77.2 overs must mean all 4 bowling points, plus the 10 points for a win equals 17 points.

Does this all mean that good old cric(dis)info is back at work or have ZC fined Rhinos 3 points for being too good ?

...but lacking in maths skills, as I hadn't spotted that before you pointed it out. Fear the ZCN/ZCF readership, I say. Although using my zimcricketnews.com email address when making queries does seem to work a whole lot better than using my old gmail one... ;)
