The laughable hypocrisy about Zimbabwe penned by Derek Pringle -England not mentally equipped for 50-over game published in Telegraph on 21 Sep 2009 defies any logic.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/cricke ... -game.html
“With no disrespect to Andy Flower and the teams he played in, playing in red makes them look like Zimbabwe which in turn makes them play like Zimbabwe – something the new shirt sponsors, Brit, need to address as a matter of urgency.”
These are disturbing metaphors to use about anyone. Was it the frustration of not playing in the historic match at Albury, WC ’92 against Zimbabwe or the fact that England’s worst ever limited defeats are almost always against Zimbabwe (5 out of 6 as quoted by his own Telegraph on 5th June 2009)
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/545623 ... feats.html
In his self-righteous fury, he forget that it’s the Zimbabwean mind who has brought back laurels twice (Fletcher, Flower) in the form of Ashes. Though Pringle’s article made me red but it will serve well for ECB in pursuit of defending Ashes if their Director remains loyal-red.
Shame on him for his embarrassing attack.

Yes, I was looking for a "comment" link in that page so that I could pour my anger right there, but could not find one. That is a norm these days with all major news portal articles, but not here apparently...

India is the powerhouse now, so vent out your anger. They must know they just cant write anything stupid.
I also follow Eng sometimes 'coz of Andy Flower otherwise who on earth will follow their tutsy-putsy players famed as allrounders

I fully understand your anger Dr Situ, sadly we are used to finding this type of rubbish in the English press on an ever growing basis.
Here at Sussex we have suffered from 'quaint little club but not really a proper county club' comments from the press and 'expert' former players for the whole of my cricket following life, even after 3 championships and about 6 one day cups in the last 10 years we are still ignored and laughed at by the likes of Pringle. Many of us have fired off letters and emails of disgust to virtually every newspaper and particularly to SkyTV whose commentators such as Bob Willis are a disgrace to their former profession, the results ?, as expected i'm afraid, we have been totally and utterly ignored. Small clubs and small countries are the ideal target for 'journalists' who have nothing intelligent to say, what is even worse is that, other than a very few exceptions, career journalists are becoming just as bad.
I know it's very difficult to take, but these people are so egotistical they wouldn't apologise for anything, Pringle probably thinks Duncan Fletcher and Andy Flower come from Essex and he recognises them from the days of his own over-rated career.
If Sussex win in the Pro40 on sunday we will have 2 of the three one day trophies and a place in the Champions League, if we lose we will have 1 trophy and 2 second places plus the Champions League, all the press will have to talk about though, is our likely relegation to the 2nd division of the County Championship, that is how minnows like Zimbabwe and Sussex are treated Dr Situ and we just aren't in the same league as the like of Mr Pringle, thankfully ........

I wouldn't worry about anything Dereck Pringle says. He was a second rate player who would have been lucky to make the Zimbabwean team.
