Pressure on Duffin and Coventry to come good here. Sean Williams might have injured himself in the Logan cup match, looking at his batting position. So not too sure of his presence in the team for this match.

now that is an thrashing!!!!!

Maruma must have secured his spot in the national sqaud for the Kenya series but what is happening to the Tuskers?

The worry is that the likes of Coventry, Mupariwa and Vermulen are all national team players, how can the selecters pick them over the performing players in the upcoming series?

On a positive note its nice to see Gavin Ewing back in Zimbabwe cricket and Sean Williams continuing to find some form :D

Man! this is disaster. Williams turned up and did reasonably well too, and so did Ewing, in his first outing. Ebrahim was the skipper! No Duffin, and Coventry woefully out of touch, and Vermeulen is failing badly too. It can't get any worse. Williams was carrying the Zimbabwean line up a couple of years ago, and looks like he would be carrying the Tuskers for the rest of the season :(

By the way, Maruma rocks! He has got to be in the playing 11 for the next ODI for sure.

Ouch :!:

A walk in the park for the Timycen Maruma XI, boy is he doing the business this season, if he isn't given an opportunity at some stage against Kenya then questions need to be asked.

For Tuskers it looks as though only Sean Williams scored at anything like a decent rate although it seems as though Prosper Utseya was back to his old tight bowling ways, good figures for Njabulo Ncube as well.

Did I call it or what. Maruma is really in good touch. His on top of his game and should be second on the national team list (second to Chigumbura). That boy looks good. I watched him a couple of times. His more of the Chandapaul type of player shuffles around the crease a lot. Great use of his feet and strikes the ball well. Great knock from Mawoyo as well. Mpofu has really picked up some good form as well. Definately challenging for national team honours
But it disturbing to note that Vermuelen and Coventry really havent found their feet and all. And with two tours coming up. I would be temptated to go with the inform players.
CHRISTOPHER MPOFU: 'The problem was fear of failure. I used to think that when I played, if I didn't do well in one game, I would lose my place for the next one but now I've let go of that'

I will be backing up Mark Vermeulen. He made 47 and 73 in the 1st round of the logan cup match and again made 73 runs in the opening Faithwear match. But in this round he failed in both format. I will add that he was sick probably during the Logan Cup match this round. But can't deny that he needs to score more, may be should get a big one.

Charles Coventry isn't finding his touch at all.

Terrence Duffin was dropped for his poor form and was replaced by Dion Ebrahim as the captain.

Good to see Gavin Ewing back in the fold and scoring runs for the Tuskers.

Well done Williams and Mpofu !

The form of Mupariwa needs to be a concern...

I will give Bonaparte Mujuru and Brendan Marsh a run in the upcoming matches...

On the Mountaineers prospective, very well done Timycen Maruma. He is always prooving himself. He definitely now deserves a place in the national side as a reward of his excellent domestic performance.
