9 runs to go for the record opening partnership. Anyone want to bet against the record for all partnerships (624 by Sangakarra and Jayawardene, against SA in 2006) going as well? By all accounts the pitch is only getting better for batting...

At this score, Bangladesh can't win (and I'd support them, being the underdogs), so I'm hoping SA can break some records. I'd say Smith would have Lara's record in his sights. At this rate he will pass it today, and McKenzie will come close too. Could be 0/810 by close, and then crack the 1000 tomorrow before declaring and giving themselves 2 and a half days to bowl Bangladesh out twice.
