ECB are now in agreement with CSA in their support of 4-day Tests. ICC seems to be trialing this and it may be that by 2020 all Tests will be 4 day affairs. BCB has said they will wait to "study" everything. The BCCI has also apparently not taken a position. Will be interesting to see how the full member countries go about this.
If they can make 4 days with 110 overs per day, that would not be a terrible idea. Make more sporting pitches, and 4-day Tests probably wouldn't be that different from the current 5 day format.
Key issue is can you get 110 overs in the subcontinent in Asian winter? You play the last session under lights, but would you be able to play with the red ball under lights + fading sunlight?
