With the first test at the Gabba just two days away, I thought it was time to start a thread for this years Ashes. Personally I think it will be close, both teams have somewhat fragile batting lineup but Australia seem to have a slightly more potent bowling attack.
Would have rather seen Hilton Cartwright in the Australian team, instead of going back to Marsh yet again.

The Australian bowling is pretty destructive. Unless our batsmen go completely fragile it is hard to see England winning too many.

England 1 for 59 at lunch. Then some annoyingly persistent rain has arrived, doesn't look like going away.

Re: ZCF 2017/18 Ashes thread
Australia very fortunate to be staring at just 300 againnst a Stoke-less England with several batsmen and allrounders not contributing.
A case of a vastly more experienced Test attack versus one still growing. But all in all, extremely poor cricket by both sides.
A former legspinner head and shoulders above everyone else with the bat, not just in this Test but generally in world cricket, underlines the state of the game.
