The West Indies beat Srilanka in the first match of their ODI series, in a thrilling encounter yesterday. Chasing a victory target of 236, Windies needed 10 runs of the last 2 balls, with just one wicket in hand, and Shivnarine Chanderpaul facing Chaminda Vaas. Chanderpaul hit the penultimate ball for four and followed it up with a six over deep midwicket to seal the victory for the Windies!
He joins Javed Miandad, Lance Klusener and Brendan Taylor, who also have sealed victory for their country by hitting a six in the final delivery of an ODI.
