Bangladesh in Pakistan 2020
This series is almost completely enveloped in doubt and uncertainty. The BCB initially stated (several weeks ago) that they were merely waiting on the government to grant clearance to confirm the tour. The BCB then said they would only tour for T20Is and wanted the Tests to be moved to a neutral venue. Most recently, the BCB has said that they will only tour for T20s if they "can make a strong team".
Personally, the BCB is in a very precarious position. England and Australia don't want to play us anywhere. They refuse to host us, and are reluctant to tour Bangladesh. India could stop playing us at any time. If this series gets cancelled, I cannot see Pakistan agreeing to play us bilaterally in the next 10 years. The fact is, when this FTP was drawn up in 2017 or 2018, the BCB willingly signed on to play Pakistan in an "away" series as part of the WTC. They should have clarified at that time that the series should be played on neutral venues.
If the series goes ahead, I hope the BCB can select a full strength side minus Shakib of course. If we get some placid surfaces, Bangladesh might be able to compete and push the series. The lowest goal would be to do better than Sri Lanka just did, but even that wouldn't be very good.

I agree. After the success of the recent SL tour , the Bangladesh players or any team for that matter don't really have too much to argue about against going to Pakistan.

Re: Bangladesh in Pakistan 2020
The tour might be moving forward. The latest developments (changing every single day, lol) is:
- BCB has asked players for consent to tour Pakistan. This is standard procedure, but hints, they are serious about considering a tour of some sort.
- Mushfiqur Rahim has refused to tour and BCB will respect that decision.
- Many players have signed up, including head coach Russel Domingo.
- Both PCB and BCB have agreed to postpone the T20 series (to be played in Pakistan) to later this year.
- BCB has said they have no problem playing a single Test in Pakistan this month, but PCB wants the full series
The BCB will probably make a final decision in the next few days (I've heard tomorrow and also Jan 12) because they need to fly out by January 18 to start the series on time.

Re: Bangladesh in Pakistan 2020
After 1 month of back and forth proposals and demands, ever-changing reasons from BCB, the PCB and BCB have come to the best possible agreement. BCB gets their core demand met (split series like Sri Lanka had) and the PCB gets their core demand met (full tour hosted in Pakistan). In perhaps a first for international cricket, this tour will consist of 3 sepeaate phases, with the PSL and Zimbabwe's tour of Bangladesh sandwiched in between.
Bangladesh will make 3 separate trips to Pakistan in January, February, and April to play 3 T20Is, 1 ODI, and 2 Tests.
Bangladesh should really back themselves to compete on this tour, unlike the tour of India a few months ago.

Nothing. It wont affect the Zim tour. Plenty of gaps in the 3 leg tour due to ZIM series and PSL

Fuck yes. However, all the reports seem to suggest its 1 Test, 3 ODIs, and 2 T20s unfortunately. Still not confirmed, so there is the slightest chance of 2 Tests.jaybro wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 12:44 amI was hoping it might mean time for 2 TestsKriterion_BD wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 11:23 pmNothing. Re: Bangladesh in Pakistan 2020
The BD squad has landed in Lahore for the T20 series which starts in a little over 24 hours from now.
I'm hoping we can win 1, but it may well be a 3-0 whitewash. We've got almost a full strength squad...only guys missing are Shakib (banned) and Mushfiq (his family didn't want him touring Pakistan).

Looking like a 3-0 whitewash. BD have been thoroughly outlcassed in all 3 departments so far. Granted this is probably our weakest format, and I hope we pull it together for the Test matches.
