Golden era of wicketkeepers?

I'm absolutely stunned by Mohammad Rizwan. His batting is elite stuff and he scored centuries in all 3 formats recently. But at the same time his glovework behind the stumps is brilliant too. Makes me think of him as the ultimate keeper to go down in history.

This is the video i was watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZUOj9Ll ... 5L54AaABAg

Also made me realise we might be in this golden gen of wk. Everyone has good depth these days in their team regarding keepers.

Rizwan - Sarfaraz
Brenden-Chakabva-Schadendorf
Hope-Pooran-Da Silva
Watling-Latham-Nicholls
Foakes-Buttler-Bairstow
Dickwella-Kusal
Mushfiqur-Liton
Paine-Wade-Carey
De Kock-Klaasen
Pant-Saha-KL

As a biased Australian, Gilchrist was just one of the best of all time to watch.

Saying Gilly was the best doesn't make you biased at all, it's the truth

In ten 90s, I distinctly remember reading that the Dutch keeper was considered the best, or one of the best in the world.
Why I might believe it is he batted at number 10 in the 1996 WC.

I could have sworn his name was Smits or something but that seems to fit the story.

Jeroen Smits is who you are thinking of. He rarely batted higher than 9.
