Kriterion, why is Tamim out of India ODIs?? And is Taskin presently injured?
Tamim groin injury...might miss the Tests too. Taskin has a back injury and out for first ODI, might be questionable for subsequent games too.

That is a massive set back for Bangladesh. Both are such crucial members of the team.

Shami is now injured and is out of the ODI series and most likely tests too.

Bangladesh A with a very solid draw...Zakir Hasan with a massive 173...Shanto with 77, and Mosaddek with 63 in the first innings.

For the ODIs, its going to be interesting as both sides seem to be missing a lot of players. Personally I would like to see Shakib bat down the order and have Shanto at #3.

Liton
Anamul
Shanto
Miushfiq
Shakib
Mahmudullah
Afif
Miraz
Mahmud
Mustafiz
Ebadat

to me that is the best XI at this point.

What a match indeed. We always lose those games. In fact, this might be our first 1 wicket win since probably sneaking one past Zimbabwe 15+ years back. Just goes to show how if Bangladesh gets in those situations they never end up winning.

Loving Ebadat's hostility and aggression. Bowled a lot of bouncers and got 3 of his wickets off snorters. Almost every ball in his spell was 140 clicks or faster.

It was a brilliant match. And just goes to show how brilliant ODIs are and what they bring to the table which T20s never can.

Yeah ODIs are still great and IMO better than T20s. Idk what the majority of fans worldwide believe though.

Either way, international ODIs will remain with the ODI world cup + Champions Trophy bringing in a lot of money to the ICC (and hence the respective boards). And given their duration, would bring in more money than T20 world cups, per tournament. Who knows the ODI world cup might even bring in more money than 2 T20 world cups combined.

At the same time, bilateral ODIs will not be played at the same frequency as in the past. Bilaterally, teams will play the same amount of ODIs and T20Is (which is unfortunate IMO), and may even play 60% T20s, 40% ODIs. A lot of players will refuse to play all 3 formats, and decide to retire from Tests and ODIs to focus on T20Is and T20 leagues.

But ODI cricket will remain. Test cricket will probably just be played amongst the top 9 teams though.

WOW. The 8th over of the BD innings was an excellent example of top quality cricket. Mohammad Siraj just bowled two amazing deliveries beating Shanto's outside edge. In between that, Shanto played two solid uppish straight drives for 4 with no mid off or mid on in place. 8 runs off the over, but also two deliveries that could have gotten world class batters out easily.

Another crazy win for BD against a decent strength India side (even their A team would probably be a top 5 side in the world).
