Three words the ECB may want to bear in mind if they go through with this rather petty ban: "Restraint of Trade". It's illegal in the EU, you know...

The ECB are full of it:
"I know full well there would be no reciprocal arrangement for us to go and play in Australia at any stage, never mind in an Ashes year," Miller said. "I can see this from a counties' point of view but it doesn't help the England cause one iota."
The reason is simple. English players in our state teams would
weaken the teams. When Australians play in county teams it
strengthens their teams. Why would we willingly weaken our domestic structure?

As a Kent fan I'm pleased with the signing. There is no guarantee that Clark will make the Ashes party and he may be able to pass on some useful tips to Amjad Khan.
