[MUGABE HAS RESIGNED] Zimbabwe celebrates!
Re: Zimbabwe Coup underway?
Mnangwagwa: "I will cooperate with the defence forces"
Defence Forces: "We have reached an agreement with Mugabe for Mnangagwa to safely return to Zimbabwe"
Mnangagwa: "I will not return unless the Defence Forces invite me and guarantee my safe return. Mugabe must resign. If not I stand by party decisions and the impeachment process that was initiated"
The lunatics Zimbabwean people place their faith in

Re: Zimbabwe Coup underway?
Just watching CNN now. Scenes of celebration on the streets of Harare not seen since Zimbabwe defeated Australia in 2014!
Re: [MUGABE HAS RESIGNED] Zimbabwe Coup underway?
So much for Mugabe being a step ahead and never stepping down, as some claimed. He saw the writing on the wall and was left with no choice. I guess this doesn't count as a coup technically since he was allowed to resign.
Unfortunately this leadership change has been led by those who feared missing out on their turn at the trough so any optimism at the moment must be cautious. That being said, the first step toward competent governance in Zimbabwe was the removal of the Mugabe clan and that has been achieved.

The Presidency is currently vacant, so I guess the two-word answer is "not Mugabe"?
