[MUGABE HAS RESIGNED] Zimbabwe celebrates!
Re: [MUGABE HAS RESIGNED] Zimbabwe celebrates!
The New Zealand government is currently banning foreigners buying houses who aren't permanent residents, the Chinese have been buying up property in Auckland, not living in it, and then reselling it two months later for big profits. Average house price in Auckland is now over a million dollars.

Seems to be a recurring theme the world over. Same thing happening here, we have new expensive apartment blocks built where Chinese investors buy up the majority of the property. Engineering and tech companies are particularly high on the Chinese shopping list--the government has so far declined to defend our economic interests at home and is turning a blind eye as long as they buy our cars ... it's going to come back and hurt us, no doubt.eugene wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2017 3:16 pmThe New Zealand government is currently banning foreigners buying houses who aren't permanent residents, the Chinese have been buying up property in Auckland, not living in it, and then reselling it two months later for big profits. In Africa (and elsewhere) the Chinese not only buy up the land and plunder natural resources, they bait (and bribe) the ruling elites with expensive infrastructure projects, financed by Chinese loans, built by Chinese labour--and then use the debts to put the countries they've thus invaded economically under pressure to kowtow to their wishes. It's the same game that Britain for example used to subjugate Egypt or Persia over a hundred years ago without actually having to invade these countries (although they invaded Egypt later on when the locals threatened to turn unfriedly).

You can put Richard Pryor, Chris Rock, Robin Williams and Jerry Seinfeld in a room for 10 years and they still wouldn't be able to come up with a script that beats the tragic joke that Zimbabwe is and shall continue to be.
One of the greatest moments of non-thinking. What's so sad about it is that's the culmination of 37 years of of supposedly waiting. SMH!

White people have been, are and continue to to that damage here in SA. Not the Chinese!!!
On the other hand, I thought Australian and New Zealand governments were smarter.

Sloandog- do you live in Zimbabwe?
Making a comment like “and here we stand” is laughable if you don’t.

I’ve been more than positive about RS and U19. One kid making a debut in 5 years is nothing to go doolally about.
As for positive developments on the political front- I marched, were you there? If you think his cabinet is progressive you don’t know what you’re talking about. If you think Chinese investment is a good thing then cuss the rest of the forumites, you’re clearly outnumbered. Stay in Uk, we’ve got this.
