Zimbabwe will not learn the art of approaching modern T20 game unless the target is 180+ or 200 in domestic T20s,140 + per scores are not impressive as far modern T20 is concerned. In first 6 overs, scores should be around 50-60

ZC's Cricket director should look into the way the games are being played, franchises should be handed over calculative approach mode in setting high targets.Work is to be done in hitting at power play and at the death.

Some impressive hits by Wellington there to score that half century . But this is an atrocious Mountaineers line up.

What an awful last over this is by Madziva.

Burl taking wickets again and scoring some handy runs. He should be inked into every T20 we play now

It had to be a superhuman effort to lose this for Rhinos. Almost at the brink now. That 50 by Wellington becoming the difference. On paper, Rhinos should have walked this. Tiripano, Chatara and Nyauchi doing just enough to strangle them.

You are right. With the powerplays, players should be chomping at the but to open in T20s. The field restrictions are a gift if you can get enough on it. Too often they approach it similar to an odi.
Should definitely look to get 50-60 in the first ten then just build for the next ten overs before going ape in the last 4/5 depending on wickets.

Tbh im really surprised more aggressive players haven't emerged in the t20 era for Zimbabwe in the top order, its a gift of a format for developing high strike rates, even when it leads to out and out sloggers, a strong suit which has never really existed in Zimbabwean cricket which has always struggled to chase higher scores, in comparison to defending lower scores in years gone by.

The only way we will ever achieve those big scores is if we have pure sloggers up top. Most of those guys are grafters and they overthink it. I’m honestly going with Zhuwao and Marumani uptop if it was up to me. Zhuwao getting 16 of 9 balls is better than Musakanda getting 21 off 23 deliveries then going out trying to cover the run rate gap. We will never go anywhere with that approach. Trust me.

We will be 150/160 team if we pick grafters up top. The only grafter I trust is BT because he is world class and won’t have to think about it. Once you start having to think about it in this format because you can’t clear the ropes you are in trouble. The opposition will pick it up and set the perfect field to get you out

Zimbabwe batters needs to learn forward scoop and forward loop shots. Ground shots and searching gaps wont work much in power play. Lifted cover drives, off drives or on drives provides the best scoring opportunities in power play, the target should be simple, to hit the bowl above the fielders who are present in the circle.
Lifted & Scoop shots depends on timing the bowl, a good timer of the bowl can provide explosive start at the begining without going hard at the bowl.

Brendan Taylor is very good at those shots
