To clarify, I think Myers/Madhevere can be about as good as Taylor/Williams/Ervine/Raza but we'll have to see if they can push the needle further than that.

Why the heck are we bowling more overs than necessary in a session? Why can't Taylor slow things down a bit?

I think he's already going to get docked match fees for slow over rates in the first innings. They were bowling 23 a session at times and just 83 on Day 1.
You can probably make them up across innings inside the same game. Umpires extended the session by 3 minutes, which means Taylor was probably instructed to bowl more overs faster.

Kaitano did excellent for his first test and if we had Williams and ervine raza as opposed to Kaia and Maruma perhaps it would be a different story this test.

Bangladesh have played well though. Apart from losing two key players on eve of test no complaints from me.

I am worried that non of our bowlers are getting any assistance from a pitch that basically should give them a home advantage.

Nyauchi has been bowling on this pitch in most domestic games.

Even the Bangladesh Bowlers are bowling better on our own pitch.

Looks like home conditions are not our advantage.

The Taylor generation didn't win that many Tests. ZIM have always struggled to put together batting and bowling performances in the same match across formats be it Tests or ODIs.

But I'm confident that the Myers/Madhevere generation won't allow ZIM to slip further in the Test/ODI table. A year ago, it really looked like ZIM could fall out of the ODI Super League and wind up in League 2 after the Big 4 retired. That will probably not happen now with the last U19 batch looking to be the best in probably a generation.

What I don't want to see in second innings is Maruma scoring a 40 and thinking he has booked a slot next few tests. Go big or go home.
It's always easier to score in a losing cause as its a pressure release.

So a big score from Kaia and Maruma if they want to stay amongst the test squad
