People need to realise that Byrom will never play for Zimbabwe.
So, do you think he'll just walk away from the game altogether if he can't even make it at Glamorgan - like how James Cameron decided to leave cricket at 26?
Irish passport so he’s got options.

Hmm, so try top level county, then tier 2 county, then Ireland domestic, then give up the game - this could be the trajectory? :)

He just appears to have options. He's been in the UK for some time now and qualifies, why would be want to come back to Zim and be treated like a mug. He's a serious batter and could probably earn excellent money in an English prem side as a worst case scenario and have a day job. Those are probably better prospects than turning out for Zim unless you're one of the big 4

Why would you want a player that fails at county 2 level to be in the Zim side anyway? If he can't make it there, he wouldn't make any impact at international cricket

Yeah :), definitely not something that instills confidence, but I was just wondering what his thought process could be. Wasn't worried at all about his Zim return as such. His highest FC score continues to be the one he got in Zim domestic though. He should have ideally eclipsed it in his county stints by now. Hope he is good enough to do that at a tier-2 county?

You do realise that Muzarabani failed at domestic level in England, could barely get in the second team.

He is now Zimbabwe’s best bowler.

If the talent is there, there is potential.

True that
PJ Moor is ordinary in the Irish league but was better than Maruma and Chibhabha

I don't think this guy is coming to Zim cricket. Why he gets so much attention in this forum?!

You saying 17 wickets at 27.47 in seven first-class appearances for Northants is considered a failure? He was released due to Brexit and Kolpak changes... What's the equivalent of those stats for a batsman and tell me if this Eddie bloke would do the same

That's a bit harsh. Think he had injuries at times and the 2020 season was much curtailed with Covid etc. When he did play he did alright I think. He improved a lot during his time there I think.
