Namibia and Netherlands look good. Those semi-finals won't be as easy.
Namibia aren't playing mate. They are already at the WC. It will ve Netherlands and one of PNG, HK, Uganda.

Ali Khan is ruled out of T20 WC Qualifiers, which is a massive set back for USA. He got injured it the last game it seems.

Makes Zimbabwe's task of finishing at the top easier, although I would want them to face the best bowlers to improve themselves.

After today's results, it is almost certain that Netherlands will finish top of their group.

Zimbabwe need to treat today like a loss and pull their socks up for last game against America.
Still fancy zimbabwe to win. I might well include Ngarava next match in place of chatara who seems injured.
Wellington masakadza has been very average in this tournament

Yeah, my bad. I saw they had a result yesterday and didn't read it properly. Cricinfo put it next to the Netherlands result.

Ngarava had a quicker effort ball than Muzarabani in both Ireland and Sri Lanka from what I remember
Yeah I remember all of us being suprised Ngarava was quicker than Muzarabani at one point.

Wellington has always been very average. I don't know where people got the idea that he's the next Daniel Vettori. Him and Ngarava and Jongwe (today's heroics notwithstnading) are three cricketers that really won't cut the mustard.

Williams, Raza, Ervine, and Chatara are so far carrying this team. Not sure how Chatara is doing it, to be honest, as I thought he was past his prime. Looks like Wesley is hitting the wall and the next 2 years will be critical to determining if his career goes the Sibanda route or if he can follow the footsteps of Taylor, WIlliams.

Blessing is solid without being a world beater. I expect him to pick up a big haul at some point at this level.

You left out Burl The Bowler. He's been excellent.
The problem with Blessing is he's not accurate enough. He bowls great wicket taking deliveries, he gets movement and he's got good bounce and enough pace, but he'll bowl you regular loose deliveries or ones that are non threatening. Maybe 2 an over are on the money.
What surprised me was that nobody ever corrected that crossing over of his arms in his loading phase. It looks so awkward and I'm sure slows him down and contributes to lack of consistency. It's nothing major, he's still a good bowler.
When Chatara is getting it to swing he needs to pitch it on stumps more often, he's regularly outside off and a fraction short and the right handers know it's not hitting the stumps. With that away swing and consistently on off stump I reckon you could even start with 2 slips against this opposition.
With Williams Burl and Raza bowling well do we even need Masakadza? You could replace him with Marumani. Good luck dropping him

Not sure why you are picking on these guys.

Ngarava is no different from Blessing. Blessing is fashionable because he's tall and has played overseas. But actually Ngarava bowls pretty much the same quality plus he's faster and he's a left-armer. A very very important part of our attack going forward. He's still only 24. Big future.

Who has ever said Masakadza is the next Vettori? He's no world beater, I don't think anybody has ever said that at all. He's the best, most consistent, spinner in the country though. We have a dearth of specialist spinners. Last couple of games especially the Singapore one it didn't look to be coming out of his hand properly unfortunately. He's had a bad injury he's just recovering from, to be fair.

Jongwe continues to win us games. He's a match winner. Why you have a vendetta against someone like him I've no idea. He's a plucky character who gives 100% every time he's on the field and he usually makes something happen with the ball when we need it. Nice to see him finally showing what he can do with the bat yesterday too.

No one is saying the any of the above are world-class superstars. But they are all solid cricketers, probably a lot better than any other alternatives we have, and haven't done too much wrong.

It's difficult when you don't actually watch any Zimbabwe matches though, like you.

Ngarava is very good. He and Blessing would make it to SL and Bd definitely.

Ya Jongwe is a good player, if he put his head down and did some hard yards with the bat he'd be a really good all rounder, plus he has a golden arm, you just can't buy that.
I still think Evans is worthy opposition to him as a seaming all-rounder, plus he can't be far off Chatara, Blessing or Ngarava in the seam dept with the bonus that he can bat.
I think one more good domestic season and he will be hard to ignore if selection is not done in the boardroom.

Marumani surely has to play this next game. There's 3 guys who he could replace- Masakadza, Shumba or Madhevere.
Even Chakabva. Its hard to know without seeing what's going on in the practices and nets though.

Competition for spots is great, it's what it's about and makes debate interesting. One would hope that with DH and Klusener in the mix that maybe out of desperation we've turned a corner and selections will be more merit based.
