This is why I don't rate Raza...
Proof (not that we even needed it) that you know less than zero about cricket.

What a day. A famous victory, a famous day. What a privilege to be there in Harare today. The most amazing atmosphere I’ve ever been part of, just such a special day. So proud as a Zimbabwean.

Not sure if they mentioned this on the broadcast or if anyone has, but they had a screen on the rugby field and that was full too!!! Easily 2,000 people there. There was a bit of an incident outside the ground that my family member got caught up in - police having to turn people away (quite forcefully) as the crowds just kept on coming all afternoon. The level of support and interest in cricket at the moment is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in this country. We probably could have filled a 50,000 capacity stadium today.

Great to see by the end of the day that whites - even the old fellas! - singing and dancing along with the Shona songs!

Just reading through…..some of the posts on here are unhinged. Some guy saying our performance was ‘abject’ and embarrassing…..less than 30 overs into the match   Uber critical of Ervine and Gumbie….wtf. They did fantastically, yet again.

Others critical of Madande the batter. Not his fault he had a broken shoulder!! Unbelievably talented kid, I promise you.

Others saying we had ‘definitely’ lost at the halfway point.

People are rooted in the past…..this current team is so different. They have a winning mentality. They almost don’t know how to lose. Unbelievable the job that Dave has done. It’s less than 18 months since we were in the doldrums with Rajcunt. Just unbelievable.

The crowd is our super power as well.

But really there’s some decent talent in this squad and a whole fuck ton of belief and attitude and perseverance and dogfuck bloody mindedness.

Get with the programme and support the team and enjoy the positivity and fun whilst it lasts

Im not sure where all the gumbie hate is coming from. He averages 30 now in internationals and has provided solid platforms with ervine in all 3 games where in the past we may well have found ourselves 55-4 early doors.
He gets a little funky sometimes but has some good little upercuts and drives. He should only improve being part of a first class environment surrounded by raza ervine and williams as mentors.
If Rajput was poison ivy then Houghton is a magical fairy sprinkling his dust on the players.
What a game

Gumbie is doing a great job. He may not be the most talented, but I like this temperament. I would take 20-40 runs from his up top every time!

Did not expect to wake up and see this result, especially not by such a decent amount. Happy to be proven wrong. Destiny is once again in our hands. We cannot screw this up.

On a side note, anyone know the details for the cricket shop? I have family coming from Zim so want to get a shirt.

Try this number….+263 777 496 681

That was correct about 12 months ago….worth a try.

Otherwise It’s at the side of the tobacco industry stand. Open most days even non match days. Or just ask in centurion on a non match day and they’ll take you round or get what you want. Think they sell stuff at Queens too but maybe that’s just match days?
