Two scores of 30 plus against Australia and South Africa will give ronak Patel confidence he can do it against good sides.

Kinda sad that I am writing about 30 plus scores but he has been the best of a bad bunch.

Yeah he's coached some good players over the years. Coaching isn't really a one size fits all. An authoritarian approach doesn't work with some players. I'm sure he's mellowed a bit with age. I'm not sure you're going to get buy-in if you make a 25 year old run 20 laps because he's late. Then again if it's his way or the highway and you want to be in the squad you tow the line.
The proof will be in the pudding. I'm willing to bet if he gets a good squad together they'll either make a 6th franchise team, another NPL side or perhaps drop Southern Rocks as a side and those guys will go to the other franchises. He'll make waves, whether they're good or not remains to be seen.

Prosper Utseya had some detractors, but the one thing he did do very well was ensure the players got a lot of cricket in. The next guy, whoever that is will do well to match that.

We've lost Brent, Shep, perhaps Houghton and Utseya. There's a dearth of quality coaches now and even less good players to actually coach. A crystal ball would be nice, it will be interesting to peer one or two years ahead.

I'm curious about BT, he must be close to serving his sentence. I firmly believe he'd be a great batting coach.

There's still no announcement about a new national coach, whether Houghton stays on as a selector or various other pressing issues. I have a feeling they're going to go with a local coach.

Ya there's something to work with there for sure.
If you can get 30 you can get 50, if you can get 50 you can get 80, if you can get 80 you can get 100. There's a couple of guys there that can hold a bat. It was disappointing watching a procession of wickets to Mafukka. You know what he's going to bowl, be ready.

Out of that long post you chose to disagree with the most obvious point made?

I guess the summit of ambitions realistically was to beat namibia and qualify for super sixes.

That has been achieved at least and automatic spot in 2026 as we finish in top 12.

However the way we rolled over against top sides should have us worried.

Taylor ban is up in 2025. I saw a recent Interview he gave which said as much
