Pro 50 Final: Mountaineers vs Southern Rocks
Re: Pro 50 Final: Mountaineers vs Southern Rocks
Innocent Kaia's bat has been making a lot of noise lately. A national call up is imminent and I don't think anyone will be complaining.

Absolutely not. Always rated Kai. When he scored that ODI century against Bangladesh a good few years ago, you could tell he had that solid technique. Reminded me a lot of how Vusi Sibanda used to bat

Had a good season, except he was out on 0 and out again on 90.
Pretty sure both Welch's are done. No point in continuing.

Re: Pro 50 Final: Mountaineers vs Southern Rocks
He suffers from having played county and being a white guy
the two attributes that immediately make any player super awesome to the casual fan.
Facts are he couldn’t even keep a contract at the worst county in England.
He’s made a couple of good scores internationally, credit where it’s due. He’s an all or nothing player though, 50s or single digits, nothing in between and he definitely doesn’t fire every time. Absolutely not the type of player who you know will give you a solid 30 every innings.
Guys excuse it saying he gets a bad decision literally every knock
There was a time last year he’d played the same number of games as Gumbie and had worse figures yet guys were calling for Gumbie to be chopped.
If you go down the potential road then you’re doing a same but different version of the Jonty/Zolsky/Nyamhuri potential based selection.
He needs to play the ZC game and hasn’t got off to the best start. He’s probably done but you never can tell with ZC

With Innocent Kaia having a great hit on form
ODIS top three spots are crowded..
Marunami Opener
Bennet Opener
Myers 3rd spot
Curran Opener
INNOCENT 3rd spot
We all now feel the rest of the lineup is SET
4 RAZA
5 BURL
6 WK BT OR MADANDE
7 MUNYONGA OR MUSEKIWA OR CRAIG ERVINE
People can also add the Campbell brother, the Frost brothers , the Welch brother and Turivanga to the mix..

I really hope both Welches stick around.
Matt is, what, 22? His career has barely started. There is plenty of time for him to tighten his game.
Nick has already shown he belongs at international level. He has put runs on the board against good bowling attacks. The issue is not ability, it is conversion. Getting in, then giving it away. That is a habit that he can take the time to study, understand, and remedy.
If the hunger is still there, then the path is simple: Fix the glitches and score some runs.
With that said, quitting would be the epitome of cowardice. I certainly hope they reconsider.

Up to them. Interesting to see what career they pursue.
I think it simply boils down to folks and Nick Welch himself thinking he is better than he is.
He plays too many shots domestically and is.not prepared to stuck it out when the bowlers are on top. I feel his game has gone backwards over the last couple.of years.
Matthew was never that keen on the sport so no surprise there.
