Taylor and Taibu need to hang around, at least, until the follow on is avoided. Two Test debutants to follow so this is a pretty crucial partnership right here.

It’s simply irritating how the Kiwis have been throwing themselves around, stopping so many boundary balls

Taibu said in a recent interview that he (most?) enjoys batting with Taylor. Let's hope this pair can stick around for a long time... it looks like the brutal assault on Patel is continuing.
None of the NZ spinners are appearing to get any great turn. Price was extracting much more turn than the New Zealanders are, but I guess Vettori isn't attack the footmarks.

It means we are keeping them busy . They will wear out if we are just patient .....Conant wrote:It’s simply irritating how the Kiwis have been throwing themselves around, stopping so many boundary balls

very very close LBW call against Taylor there. I would say that it was marginal. Well played though Both. I think we will comfortably avoid the follow on. In terms of tbe Tail do we think that Price/jarvis/Ncube/mpofu can muster up 70+ runs between them. This is after all on a flat wicket. Jarvis hit a nice 25* against pakistan and price can bat well on the day too.
Hoping that Mr cool aka malcolm waller can keephis head and get us up to parity

Could have been much better...Vuis played very well, but the sucker punch worked for NZ, tough luck, he'll eventually get that 100, just not today, Zim has done well, less than 90 (sorry less than 50) to avoid follow on, work ahead, but they've done well.
1. Mawoyo 2. Duffin 3. Sibanda 4. Taylor 5. Masakadza 6. Williams 7. Chakabva 8. Creamer 9. Jarvis 10. Rainsford 11. Mpofu

Well played in the first session. 110 runs in a session is really healthy.
But, we lost 2 wickets but, Taylor and Taibu going good.
A lot depends on how Waller and Chakabwa copes with the pressures of test cricket.
It will be really good if Zim can add a 200 more runs for the lose of 2-3 wickets at close of play today.
Hoping for the best.

My hope is that taibu and Talor will bat out the rest of today in a postive , but cautious fashion .Posting 200 will indeed get us in the reach of the Kiwis . If we we keep pushing we can actually set a lead of about 200(optimistic) and have the Kiwis bat on a 4th & 5th day pitch that will be a heaven for Price.

Taylor was plumb. That was going on to hit middle and off about half way up. But Zim was due a bit of luck, considering the number of plumb LBW calls they have had turned down in recent times...
Congratulations to Taylor on his 5th Test fifty, let's hope he can push on!
