Yes you're very much right sir, for 8 weeks. Poor them!

Tell us something we don't know. This fellow is the worst captain I've EVER seen in international cricket, bar none! That's an indisputable fact! Vusi was actually the front runner, lost out because 1-Ndebele, 2-uncertainty about his first team chances at the time. Anyway, Ewing will be in the picture soon, so if Brendan Taylor doesn't jump, he will be pushed hopefully!

Whatever the case might be there's a lot to celebrate.
1-Hami well and trully back on top. Needs to develop more shots though, muscle isn't everything.
2-Those horizontal straight hits for six, on drives & pulls reminded us once again what we stand to benefit from Matsi's class in the long run. Had he stayed longer the total would've been beyond this very much weakened NZ side.
3-Brendan Taylor should have opened, disappointed he stepped away after one failure. Nonetheless he did very well to keep us going towards a total we should have defended considering that the explosive Ryder, Ross & Guptil were missing, match unfit players, more debutants included and their batting order was mixed up.
4-Add Vusi&Coventry to this trio, and we've got a very solid top-middle order in the short formats plus lots of excitement!
5-Elton did very well with both bat and ball! Should be a first XI pick for all formats.

anusha, trust me, a few people in this forum might still be delusional about certain players and our team in its present form, but I can assure you the majority, myself included, have been grossly embarrassed and are hugely disappointed & annoyed at our team. This has been in my memory, our worst ever series&tour! I also think everyone has pretty much figured out that Taylor is am utterly useless captain, so it's up to the selectors to rectify that major blunder. There were suspicions he would be poor, since he had never really captained at any level, but no one here imagined he would be this bad at it!

Actually what I'm celebrating is those talents which stood out(in this particular game), and just as you point out, we're also thinking to ourselves if only they could come together and perform consistently. Another thing we can celebrate is that this tour has shown us how meaningless the Bangladesh Test&ODIs plus the NZ ODI dead rubber win was. Now we can justifiably look forward to seeing the right players occupying key positions in the side, while some of the pretenders chucked out.

SHINGIRAI MASAKADZA!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF WTF WTF !!!!!!!

He only bowled one over before that and he gets the last over. I would have gone to Meth or Chigumbura. That is just shocking captaincy. We had the game in the bag and we go and give the ball to Shingi, you have got to be kidding me. Im absolutely fuming.

Taylor will get the blame for that decision, but its the managers and coaches who give out the game plan and tell him which bowlers to use when. Our caoches are not tactical and that is what costs us at the end. Maskadza is shocking as a bowler.

Absolutely pissed.

Holy Shoah kebab on a stick

THAT was SHINGi last over? ??

I'm short sighted I thought it was Elton. I assumes for sure it was Elton

So let me get this straight,

Brendan put the most expensive bowler in Zimbabwean history onto bowl an over that required run restriction?

Ignored the form bowler of the innings

NIGGA PLEASE!!

Strange and very emotional the comments we are getting. Haven't most forumers been agreeing all along that Shingi is an excellen dearth bolwer, and quite nerveless, with pedigree in the dearth bowling in comparison against the rest of his teammates, incuding thae 8 runs he defended against West Indies in his very first international; and today we are shocked, totally shocked he was handed the ball? Well, aren't we all so wise with hindsight!!

I don't remember Elton over bowling a last over in the recent past, zimdoggy; and till recently he was "rubbish", and today he was supposed to bowl a match winning last over? Curious. And also incredible that we can judge form over four overs. No, make that two
