Re: [Match thread] Zimbabwe vs South Africa - Final
So sad I missed this run chase. When someone has some hihglights please post them! Great victory for Zimbabwe - South Africa have paid dearly for underestimating both us and Bangladesh. Taylor again leads us home to victory. After the dismal tour of New Zealand we needed something like this. When is the next international series in Zimbabwe?
Neil Johnson, Alistair Campbell, Murray Goodwin, Andy Flower (w), Grant Flower, Dave Houghton, Guy Whittall, Heath Streak (c), Andy Blignaut, Ray Price, Eddo Brandes

Re: [Match thread] Zimbabwe vs South Africa - Final
The images of the crowd flowing out on to the ground was special. It was obviously a feeling of pure ecstasy for everyone out there - and I thought it showed how well mannered the crowd was when they all filed off the ground in unison after a few minutes. That was a great crowd and it was great to watch that live on TV. From what would have been a pretty underwhelming bilateral series has come a tightly contested and high quality tri-series tournament.
What a superb and comprehensive victory. Even though it wasn't a full international, it has to stand right up there with the Test win against Bangladesh and the T20 win against Australia as great Zimbabwe wins of the modern era because it was obvious how meaningful it was to the players and the fans.
Interesting trivia: Taylor, Masakadza and Sibanda were the highest scorers - in that order - both today and in the T20 win over Australia in 2007. Sibanda scored 23 runs off 15 balls in both matches. Taylor kept wicket and was unbeaten in both matches (60 then, 59 today). Utseya got 1/29 then and 1/28 today. Probably the key information here is that full team efforts win matches, as was the case then with Taylor, Sibanda, Chigumbura and Brent and today with Taylor, Sibanda, Masakadza, Jarvis and Cremer.

Had to go out after the Saffers' innings, therefore missed the run-chase, but what a glorious way to finish the series. So pleased for all the lads!

Anyone notice that on cricinfo the Score sheet says Vusi hit zero sizes but the commentary shows that he tonked Tsotsobe for 6. But somehow it doesnt change his final score

Congratulations...well done Zimbabwe!
I think ZIM are making that transition to becoming a very strong side on their home turf.
