I definitely know the economic situation is getting worse and companies everywhere including the big guns like econet are making everybody take salary cuts. I just hope this exercise is across the whole organisation because it won't make sense to pay mukondiwa 20k for example whilst giving the best player 3.5k because the players are the ones who bring in the money not the admin.

I think the best compromise would be to offer a lower base salary but also offer some huge performance based bonuses like maybe a century is worth a 1000 dollar bonus, a half-century 500 dollars,5 wicket haul 1000,3 wicket haul 500, a win 1000 extra for everybody.that way the players are motivated to perform because their performances have also been substandard over the 18 months.

taps great suggestions there. Good measurebale performances will b helpful in getting our cost structures. The problem we have is salaries are paid based on title and not productivity. Ive worked on a few projects with some Austrians and the project leader earned less than others because he wasnt involved in the productive work that brought the income in. So in our case Mukondiwa should earn less with our players and support staff earning more. Its skewed and may compromise authority but its performanced based

ZC is not financially viable in the current economic climate and with the current board. Alistair Campbell was the best at finding sponsors it seems, I doubt the current ZC leadership has much ability to find sponsors.

$50 000 for a century.
$30 000 for 5 wicket haul
$20 000 for a half century
Until the players earn more than the idiots in charge we're going nowhere.

I don't know why I value a century more than a 5 wicket haul but either way there's not much money going out.
Maybe 100k for a win?
A million for a double century.
20 million for a triple.

The salary cuts are so the big guys can stay the same or get an increase, don't be naive.

I definitely agree with this. The players deserve the largest salaries, for sure. Possibly one or two of the administrators at the very top should be level with the players, but that's it.

Which administrator do you think is worth more than $70 a month? It takes an hour a day to "administrate"
A drunk hamster would be better than what we have. It would certainly steal less.
Once again the players are striking and once again they will capitulate with nothing gained. We are in a terrible repeating nightmare.

The economy affects Sponsors but not ZC.. ZC gets a grant from the ICC (±£9 million).. This is more than enough to run our cricket.. They made $23 million in revenue in the last financial year mainly because of the world cup and India coming.. Mismanagement/corruption is what's driving ZC to the ground.. And we don't want AC. He's a thief!! Mr Q Nkala (Former General Manager) would make a good MD or Mascood Ebrahim.. Do you know that the same covers, boundary rope and cushions, and security nets were used in Harare for the SA A ,NZ warm up and Test matches in Bulawayo?? They used Swift to transport them.. It's shocking!!

TapsC wrote:3500? aren't there already a number of players on 5k or more..no way the senior guys will accept 3500..please explain further.. is he trying to spread the money out or what?
He used to cry for more money (even manhandled the Finance Director , who is a lady) when he was a player but is now trying to make life difficult for the players.. And it's NOT OK for the players to earn 3.5K or less while the MD nets a cool 20K every month!!! And don't give me this economy nonsense! ZC is given a grant and that grant covers salaries, incoming tours, general expenses and development.. ZC apply for an amount and they have always been given what they want.. They even got bailed out 2 years ago when they had mismanaged the funds.. And no they aren't spreading out the money amongst the players.. Sadly franchise players earn $200-800(6 months) , High Performance Contracts (Zim A & Zim fringe players) $1500- 3500 (12 months) and Central contracts $3500-8000(12 months) (just ended 2015/16 season).. Don't be surprised if you see a huge player walkout.. Oh and did you know the lady who scores earns more than the Franchise players???
