CSA Cubs week
Re: CSA Cubs week
I warned you guys that they would struggle at the next level, and that's against quota sides.

i honestly think those boys are better than what they
are showing, i dont know whats happening yes they are
losing but they are good enough and should play at that
stage with ease, give them time to settle & adjust to
conditions

Another match going on today. Let us hope they do better...
Re: CSA Cubs week
The majority of them are quite young compared to the Cubs sides. Barring Murray, the exact same squad could compete in this tourney next year. Part of Mangongo's plan to give the squad for the 2018 u19 WC 2 whole years of preparation. Virtually the exact same team was just playing provincial u17 sides, franchise u19 sides are a big step up. So no real surprise to see them struggling, other than to the deluded who think that Schadendorf or Murray should already be in the national team...sixes fan wrote:i honestly think those boys are better than what they

Re: CSA Cubs week
What does that tell us though? When we were full strength sides, guys like Hamilton Masakadza, Taibu and Sean Ervine made it to the national team (and performed admirably) before they went on the U19 journey. On merit. I'm not counting the Chigumburas and the Taylor's here because their entry into the team was forced due to 2004 exits. So, does that categorically mean our U19 development is not up to the mark these days? It definitely does not seem to be a case of ZC not having the guts to punt on them as they did a decade and a half ago. Guys have not shown enough promise. They have not played enough matches at different levels (which the three gentlemen above had done). Our age group development is not as exciting as it looks on the face of it. If we had this much internet coverage and info of Hamilton, Taibu and Sean growing up, we would be drooling uncontrollably I guess...

Madhevere with another 4 wickets today. 12 from 3 matches! This is Schadendorfesque form with the ball. Although Cricinfo is showing him as having bowled 11 overs. Hope all the wickets stick with him...
