I fear the West Indies are trying to poach Daniel Jakiel so he can play for them. He is apparently the next Curtly Ambrose.

Word on the street is he has done a great job as senior bowling coach at the tallawahs and is in line for a playing coach type role for the west indian senior team. No doubt mark olonga would be his senior assistant.

Jarvis will not return. Talks still on with Taylor, he likely to come back for West Indies series
Is this pure speculation, or based on a known fact..?

It's just a rehash of the other articles, but it seems like there's a good chance Taylor could return.
If Notts want to keep him, why not just offer him an overseas player contract instead of Pujara?

Looks like its not as guaranteed as we all think it is. I guess the problem is that because of brexit there probably wont be more kolpak deals after. He needs a 3/4 year deal on the table. I also feel that if we do continue on an upward trend and also qualify for the world cup then it becomes difficult to dump people who took us there and take people like BRMT or Ervine or Jarvis to the world cup without annoying the squad that fought to get there.

Its a different situation this time around. This world cup has to be earned. If we do find a competitive formula without these guys then the door might be shut forever.

Maybe this is why they said we couldnt afford both of them at the same time. I think he will only come back if we qualify for the world cup. Hopefully brexit will be more clear by 2018 too. I doubt Kolpak deals will still be possible but he might have been there long enough to get permanent res maybe? I dont know if that would mean he would be able to be an international again.. interesting times ahead

For a young bloke who has no family left in Zimbabwe I can't see him giving up his county deal and comfortable life in England to come back to play for Zimbabwe.

Although things seem good now you just never know with Zimbabwe the tide changes often and sometimes without warning.

I understand the lure of playing international cricket is big but Zimbabwe don't really tour the big countries anymore heck Bangladesh won't even have us anymore.

I think part of KJ would love to play in the World Cup but he's a smart boy and would know the long term reward of staying in England is greater.

BRMT different story his wife and children are in Zimbabwe, if he was going to sign for another 2-3 years the family would already be over there with him.

Very true. Which is why for me he has to get permanent residency. Maybe thats why he wants to see out his contract. He would have been there for 5 years which would make him eligible. Dont know what the ECB rules are when it comes to this but surely he then has every right to work as a local whilst still playing for Zim or at the very least he would be able to give us 4 good years and then go back..Its the smart play because it gives him options.

It's a seven year qualification.

Cricket really is in the dark ages. Imagine if playing for your country of birth stopped footballers from playing in the Premier League?!
