The guy hansnt passed 50 in a Test since 2014, I still have in my side due to his good technique against the new ball and his 'decent' test record.

For me Mire is key for the 8-3 to even stand a chance of working as I believe with the right coach he can become a better bowler.

I like that style of thinking. I agree that Mire is a serious contender for the Test side - I think it'll be a little tough to squeeze him in given the incumbents are pretty strong and in decent form right now (already, Waller and Moor are likely to miss out) but come next year I reckon he'll be given a cap.

Now with it being official that BRMT and KJ are back, ZIM are at full strenght. At the very least, they are as strong as ever before. After seasons of county experience these guys will be loads better than they were before and still have 4-6 years of prime years left.

I thought Regis was the Test keeper? Like do we really need the to and fros?

I really don't understand how Tary is ahead of Burl in everyone's Test side, he averages 23 and zero hundreds.

For me this is the generic side I would go for ( different horses for courses of course )

Regis just ahead of Moor as a glove-man but if Moor works on his keeping he will go in

"Regis just ahead?" You always slate hhm for being nuts jaybro but you hardly make sense yourself. Moor will never be a keeper, that much is evident. I think I've seen Waller do better. Also, Chakabvs is still the better Test batsmen so Moor must go in where?

I hope I can be proven wrong but in my opinion with Taylor back and the Williamses ans Razas ahead in the pecking order, PJ Moor will mostly be in the A side for a few more years to come.

Where Simon Harmer and Jeetan Patel are world beaters?

Every single one of the South African domestics franchises (quoat and all) would hammer County Division 1 champions!

Average South African bowlers and batsmen who flop at international level thoroughly dominate it. Even old guys like Prince, McKenzie, Alviro and Rudolph scored runs for fun there. Rory Kleinveldt and his paunch look menacing running in with the new ball. Even Kyle Abbott looks more dangerous than Glen McGrath there.

Has Jarvis done well in County cricket? Yes. Leave it at that. Other bowlers who've done well at County cricekt actually had to bowl in the Royal London Cup and the T20 blast too, not put their feet up like Jarvis.

Chatara was only 21 and only recently out of the Under 19s when Jarvis left. So other than being unnecessarily snide you haven't said anything to debunk my assertion at all.

So he was taking wickets in the most prestigious competition while Chatara was doing what - navel gazing? You think given the same opportunity Chatara or dare i say even Shingi and many other bowlers who never got chance wouldn't have succeeded in the county or first division of the county championship? To compare apples with apples, so you think him securing a contract makes him better than say Brian Vitori at the time, the two guys who made their Test debuts at the same time, because Lancashire picked him rather than Vitori in 2013?

You know what the best thing about this KJ return is?

That he volunteered to leave Lancs by asking them to release him. For 4 years, he has has maintained "fuck no, I wouldn't go back if my left arm depended on it" and now he actually wants to come back. He tossed an entire season of guaranteed salary and benefits. He's not just coming back because he has no better option left.

HHM/pariah...surely, there is no way you can gloss over that fact. The ZC Pakistani in less than 6 months in charge has brough the two most talented ZIM players post-2004 back. The ZC black leadership has managed to chase away Cremer, Williams, Price, Ervine Jr, Taylor, and Jarvis. And thats not including guys like Ballance, Byrom, or Welch.

You are comparing +2 to -6 and can't figure out which is more.

Regardless of anything, the white community contains 80% of the cricketing talent in 10% of the players of that color. You get whites back, the team is that much stronger. Period.

We literally have to wait 3 weeks to see who the better bowler is guys... I think it all depends on the format and whether Chatara is even fit enough to play 2 tests. Although I do think both Chatara and Vitori would crack a county second division team if given the opportunity. Jarvis did struggle in his first year too. don't know why there is an argument as I'm sure all 3 would be picked in our strongest side anyway.
