Why cant Gary and Murray play for zim and county?

Eltons going to do it.....The flowers did it.....the whole australian team do it etc etc.

If cricket is to recover from its sickness it needs all troops on deck (not just Zim).

Did a bit of digging and found this re: Scott Brant. According to the stats site that we use over here it doesnt look like his player ID was regirstered last season 09/10...

Why hasnt he mentioned Zim national team as an option i dont understand?

he could easily play world cups, tests, and be on an international platform. If he is willing to travel interstate i dont see why, is he holding a forlorn hope of playing for Aus? lol.


If you asked me yesterday i would have thought he had extra curricular activities in QLD ( business etc) but again, we now know he is willing to move for the craft.

Im pretty sure current Zimboks dont all live in Zim in the off season.

They're Kolpak players - can't play for for a national side while you're on a Kolpak contract (counties can sign only one 'overseas' player to their squads - a player on a Kolpak contract doesn't count as 'overseas' due to a quirk of EU employment law, so the counties use it as a workaround). Elton's an 'overseas' player, as were the Flowers and Heath Streak back in the day, so he can continue to play for Zim.
