So we need a T20 tourney loaded with guys whose countries will buy the tv.
I don’t know how that will fly. SA is struggling and they’ve got world class local players before they even shop around and they aren’t exactly raking it in.
The last one we had ZC didn’tt pay the local boys because they said Gayle had scooped most of the cash. Obviously the books weren’t for public consumption so we’ll never know the revenues.
When we host a series that always seems to cost money, surely a T20 3 match series thrown in makes it marketable? I guess if it did then they would have done it?
It means the touring side have to now bring their T20 players I suppose?
What has changed is that touring sides rated Zim as one of the best places to tour. That was quite a significant factor and that we’re not getting back.

Our big problem is lack of corporate sponsorship. They’re just not interested. There’s 4 reasons, but not sure the weighting of ea-
Hard to get excited about a side that’s usually not competitive.
Some suspicion about the ability of ZC to administrate
Most of the big corporates aren’t actually interested in cricket as evidenced by empty corporate boxes. Not just empty but practically abandoned.
The economy is so shagged that most companies don’t have much spare income.
We desperately need a couple of black superstars. Everyone loves a winner.
I’m not sure the current tax breaks are regarding sponsorship, but the gov wants every last dollar for themselves so I don’t think we’re getting much help from that quarter.
Anyway we have a new sports minister and thankfully it’s not the two that were rumored, and there’s a faint hope that the President is going to shake a few trees.
That’s about as much optimism as I can muster.
We’re going to get dry humped for the foreseeable future
We’re in perpetual limbo regarding official information regarding anything from ZC. When are they starting the u19 program? Are there any age group tours this year? Are they starting an Academy? Endless questions and no answers, how does anyone plan or hope?
