Zimbabwe All Time XI [Graphic Presentation]
Re: Zimbabwe All Time XI (All-format) [Graphic Presentation]
You made a little mistake with Campbell. It says he played until 2019

He was woefully out of form by the time we hit CWC 2003 and was rightly dropped from the squad for CWC. He "retired" and hit the commentary box right away, but was drafted in later due to others' injuries and when we made it to the next stage. He crawled to a painful score against Kenya and looked totally out of sorts and that was the end of the career. So, he was basically spent by 2003.

And yet he was captain against Pakistan at home in 2002. I feel he was massively discarded at too young an age. Just because he was out of firm against Kenya shouldn't have meant the end of his career

Oh no, the regular decline was there to see for a couple of years. He had been regularly failing in tests and hung on to a spot because there was no one better available. Trust me, he was definitely done. He was pretty much a walking wicket towards the end and it was painful. It was kind of same as Hammy's last year or so at International level.
In any case, even if he had not retired, there is no reason to believe that he would not have been part of the rebels walkout anyway

Neil Johnson has to be Zimbabwe's all time list, surely. I don't know at the expense of whom.
Chatara, I'm not quite sure, I would prefer some of the bowlers from earlier era. Eddo Brandes, Henry Olonga?

You should read my description on player selections (opener) to undderstand why i sidelined NJ to subs for Campbell. EB and Olonga were good but Chatara not only has a better overall record but Chatara's opposition wickets have also been majorily against top sides. There's a reason why Tendai is going at a 22 avg in domestic. He's talented but is injury prone

Campbell wasn’t even in the original 15-man squad for the WC in 2003, he was brought in to replace an injured player, Vermeulan perhaps?

I'm saying he wasn't as bad at this stage as people seem to think. In 2002 he scored an ODI century and I still think he had a lot to offer
Re: Zimbabwe All Time XI (All-format) [Graphic Presentation]
My bad, you are right. I completely miscalculated that.
