Zimbabwe Cricket T20 regional squads for India series preps

Zimbabwe Cricket have put together two matches regional matches as preparations for the high-profile T20 series against India at Harare Sports Club begin to take shape.

Two teams, Northerns and Southerns have been constituted for the regional matches which will see two T20s played on Friday at Takashinga Sports Club before moving to Harare Sports Club on the next day.

It wasn’t announced but several sources reported that Ervine also retired from T20 at the same time as Williams. So maybe he has.

Great to see Roy Kaia in the squad. Brilliant!

No Naqvi,

Rodney Mupfudza is the next guy they are taking a punt on and will give 50 games to.

Is Salmon in the country yet?

if that's true that Richie is out, we may have to consider the possibility of bringing Chatara in for the series. Despite everything in the t20/ODI qualifiers, he's been so dominant during his time off.

If they are picking 15 based on those 2 squads I’d probably go for this:

Bennett
Madhevere
Myers
Raza
Campbell
Burl
Madande
Jongwe
Welly
Muzarabani
Chatara

Bench
Marumani
Shumba
Gwandu
Mavuta

I have had to put Chatara in as our pace bowling is so weak without Ngarava and Evans. Struggled between Mavuta and Muzondo, but Mavuta can bat a bit which helped the decision.
