A dress rehearsal was carried out on Saturday, with police commandos escorting two empty buses from the team hotel to Gaddafi Stadium and back. The route between the hotel and stadium was cleared of traffic and shielded by armed policemen at 100m intervals. Every road leading to the stadium and hotel was patrolled.

Re: Zimbabwe to tour Pakistan for ODI series
The Zimbabwe players seem nervous (pretty much anyone would be after what happened in 2009)
But I feel media tends to exaggerate the situation in PAK, plus with the security provided everything should be fine inshaAllah.
Having said that, pretty poor from ZC to force players to tour vs their will.

And yes Chamu is right, means a lot to us here in PAK.
Re: Zimbabwe to tour Pakistan for ODI series
I'm guessing the players were told if they don't tour they won't be considered for selection for future series or paid outstanding match fees or some other type of ZC black mail ploy ......
I'll say it again these boys always get the rough end of the stick .....

This really sucks honest how are these guys supposed to play cricket when every two seconds you have to look over your shoulder. Pointless tour.

Re: Zimbabwe to tour Pakistan for ODI series
Yeah, it's pretty disappointing when the (players) overwhelming feeling before a tour is apprehension.
Once this tour is over, guaranteed PCB will never do any favours for ZC. I'm not holding my breath for PCB to ever invite us for a series in UAE. This is not the start of any sort of deep relationship between the two boards. PCB used ZC and exploited Zimbabwe's lack of fixtures.
I believe ZC's biggest ally over the last couple of years has been the New Zealand board. They were the first western country to resume proper relations with ZC, they selected strong teams and then backed all that up with a series in NZ as well.

Yes. If you live in the US (I assume this judging by your username) then your best bet is probably finding a live stream.americanzimfan wrote:Will the matches be televised?

A vague look at Zim's new kit for this series:
