Ceohas is that guy in park cricket with a great eye who gets a 20 ball 50 against medium pacers everytime.

But these guys never adapt to genuine pace.

If there is a few injuries he might be worth a punt (always a possibility in Zim) but other than that he doesn’t seem smart.

Maybe trial him in a game against a real attack and see what happens.

He struggles against spin if they bowl on leg or just outside. He doesn't sweep and has an awkward shovel around the corner. If they miss the line he bangs them, but if a spinner is accurate enough he doesn't have a boundary shot there. He can't even regularly dink it for a single.
To be fair you'd think he'd have learnt one.
Its the same with Chamu's woes against spin. You'd think a guy his age and ability would have put in some hard yards and shored up the genuine glitch he has. Today why would they send Chamu out when he's about to face 12 overs of leg spin (assuming he lasts half that long) when you've got Marumani (leftie) who can hit with the spin and enjoys spin? Just doesn't make sense.

The final was a damp squib. Eagles posted a decent total thanks to a circumspect 37 from Welch, 20 something from Madhevere and a fantastic 50 from Marumani (he's a way better 5/6 than an opener, that's clear). Rhinos imploded. Some shocking umpiring. Are they taking 10 dollar bribes, lack a moral compass or just genuinely challenged? It's time for AI robots to replace most of these guys, they fuck up every game they're involved in. Before we invest in AI robots we would be better off training parrots.
Madhevere really is in a league of his own in the fielding dept, he's a world class fielder.

I was at the ground for the final this afternoon. Caught the last half hour of the 3rd/4th place match as well.
Awful innings from Makoni for Tuskers, for the 2nd day in a row. 37 off 44 balls in a T20 at this level is criminal. Did the same yesterday. Probably the worst innings from an opener you will ever see in T20.
Murombo bowled well again in that match! I keep banging the drum but I rate him a lot.

As for the final, not a great game. But it was so so good to see Marumani doing well. He’s had a tough time but he oozes quality and he will come good for Zimbabwe eventually. It’s just a debate how we manage that. A pleasure to see him live batting like that today. Also Wessly bowled very well and took a stunner of a catch.

I have to say the Rhinos batting innings was highly suspicious……A hit wicket? An all-run 5?!?! Eagles bowling some very obvious no-balls and wides. Some questionable umpiring. Just saying……

Nice that there was a bit of a crowd in attendance. Although as usual the numbers attending could be at least double with a small promotional effort.

Rhinos lose another final and waste another chance at a trophy, another promising get ultimately disappointing season for them.

Eagles take out both the Logan Cup & T20 tournament, a good season for them.

Somebody very high up in the ZC hierarchy must really hate the T20 format. If they can do a decent job of organizing the Logan Cup and Pro 50s (relatively speaking), and show absolute disdain for T20s year after year, that is the only explanation

Perhaps the ZC admins like cricket more than we think they do? Anyone who marginalizes T20 is clearly a true fan!

Does Burl think that the universe would cease to exist if he bats any higher than 7? He seems to have batted even after Mavuta yesterday, just to stick to his usual no. 7 position. Stupid, given that lineup.

I'm fairly sure he doesn't get to decide where he bats and I'll guarantee he wants to bat higher. He should bat higher imo.
Wasted as a hitter down the order, especially in domestic cricket.

Where was Innocent Kaia this tournament? Is he injured?

Musekiwa can really hit a clean ball, he was very impressive, but bats way down the order. They need to revisit where he bats because he's very good.
Prince Masvaure is too slow to open in T20, but bowled very cleverly. Does he sit out the fitness tests?

Mike Chinouya really impressed me as well. Ran in hard and bowled accurate back of a length deliveries at the box. It's the best delivery on that wicket because the pitch is very up and down. Its unnerving for a batsman if you don't know whether it's hitting you mid pad or your throat. These pitches have been difficult to bat on. He was a real prospect when he was younger, I've not followed his career and am not understanding why he has never had a run in the national side.

Ngarava can really send it down when he's fired up, but him and Chivanga are not accurate enough.
Talent Dzikiti looks really useful as well, left arm seam is always tricky, but I suspect he's one of those guys that will do well domestically but will struggle higher up.
Falao is a prospect, such an athletic guy with a beautiful action, such a pity he's not taller.

I'm not sure if Parkinson ever got more than 2 overs in a game, also very odd considering how good a bowler he is.
Also not sure why Nick Welch only got to open at the back end of the tournament? They bowled well at him yesterday and kept him quiet. In fact his first big shot was only in the 12th over and he missed it and was bowled. Had Marumani not come off Welch would possibly have been criticised for batting a bit slowly. In a domestic side that doesn't bat too deep you have to be a bit more circumspect though.
It was interesting watching him and Madhevere together. Way more swings and misses from Wes. On a true wicket where he can go downtown he's good to watch, but on a sticky pitch he is not as good square of the wicket, needs to work on that. Also seems reluctant to go over extra, he's got the shot, but clearly not confident bringing it out too often.
The difference is he recognizes the wicket and adjusts immediately, most of our domestic batters struggle to change their game. It would have been a 200 plus score if he'd been there at the end with Maru.

Ed Byrom had a disappointing tournament. I was looking forward to watching him. Strange old game because he's a quality player and needed to impress to put his hand up in his county side.
Curran was actually dropped for a couple of games, but then got some decent scores. That was surely a selection error. He's the only player that deliberately go's for those unorthodox behind the wicket shots. I don't like them, but they're effective. You can look stupid going out to one.

I'd like to understand why the forum feels that Burl doesn't get to decide if he wants to bat higher. Whoever is trying to do that, won't they be exposed if he is sent in after Mavuta?
