He is rated mate I appreciate that, but I think him being rated in test cricket will soon fizzle out when better sides than Bangladesh get a hold of him.

One day and T20 cricket, get him in. He's accurate enough and has good variation and can hit a long ball. There's genuine merit in the side for him.

How did Andile Phehlukwayo get into the Test side with an average of 37 when all those other bowlers average low 20’s???

You know what jaybro this business of you (and Crimson) not paying attention then later coming back to demand info is getting tired.

Whatever I say has evidence on this forum.

Your question is very silly. But I'll indulge because at the very least Kriterion and to a lesser extent Sloandog and Flakeman would be the ones closest.

South Africa A has had several tours against India, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka, Australia A and England. Look them up.

We've already been through Phehlukwayo ripping through ZImbabwe with the ball.

In this instance lets focus on just your Australia A team.

He was easily SA's best player for the A team in your own backyard against your best prospects but you were too blind to even notice it!

He outbowled Parnell, Olivier and Viljoen. How do you not remember?
He got Maxwell, Patterson and Handscomb. In fact, he got Patterson 3 time sout of 3. How do you not remember?
He scored against the same junk AUS bowlers the main SA ODI side molested. How do you not remember?

Do your own homework and stop bashing players needlessly.

Phehlukwayo has done excellently with bat and ball for the A side in Unofficial Test matches. He earned his spot in the Test side!!!

End of discussion!

And for the record, 21yr old Phehlukwayo also later outbowled your 29 yr old Dwaine Pretorius in "ODIs" over equal games against the same level of opposition.

In that table you showed he averaged 36 with the ball going at 3.5 an over and 28 with the bat and that’s only a two game sample anyways

Please you’re better than that surely ??

Is there a table showing all of his A team performances ??

You have provider zero proof Phehlukwayo has EARNED his place in the A side let alone the Test side.

Once again you keep avoiding the question out to you

How has Phehlukwayo made the Test side ( or even A side ) with a first class bowling average of 36 when the other all average low 20’s ???

I’m sorry if you can’t answer this question there is no point continuing with this arguement

It’s quite clear Phehlukwayo is simply a quota player

I agreed right up until the last line. Too harsh.

Phehlukwayo has proven himself to be a seriously handy limited overs player. Tests are a different matter entirely, but I definitely believe his place in the Proteas ODI and T20 setup is warranted.
