Pretty flat and a little bit green. Everyone thought bowling first would be the way to go - Taylor said he would have bowled as well.

For the first couple of overs the ball nipped around a bit, but the pitch has got flatter as the day has worn on.

hhm wrote:Very poor captaincy by SAH. He knows Zim batsmen will play him with caution and hence he can stem the runs but he's keeping himself out of the attack. Top players of some teams are like that. Pretty much like Kallis and Sachin for the majority of their careers, until recently. When the situation meant their individual scores/averages will be affected, they would hardly play agressively even if the team needed that. Simply accumulated runs, never mind about the team. As it is the Bangladeshi bowlers are under the pun but he's not bowling himself. Each time they've taken a wicket they haven't pressed through using field placing and bowling strategy. We should really take advantage of that. Hamilton is in so he should continue to score quickly, while Taylor hangs back. We've still got Taibu, Ervine & Elton to come. If we've got a good score we can put them in just before lunch tomorrow. These guys are there for our taking!
Agreed. Except on Kallis and Sachin...it looks like they are doing that, but not really true, I'd say more Dravid, and what I've heard of Geoff Boycott...but agreed about Shakib's tactics.
1. Mawoyo 2. Duffin 3. Sibanda 4. Taylor 5. Masakadza 6. Williams 7. Chakabva 8. Creamer 9. Jarvis 10. Rainsford 11. Mpofu

ok so the real test will be when our bowlers have a crack at it. especially with two debuts among the bowlers

Love it, six years to get back into test cricket and we have people complaining that it is boring. Do you want another collapse like against Australoia A?

Ill take 280-2 at the close no problem

These guys can bat like this all day - I will take it. I don't suppose anyone has found a high-quality stream? All the ones I have found are average picture quality and have pop-up ads all the time.

Yeah, I agree with this. It's just great to see a proper Test match battle involving Zimbabwe, it's been a long time.

Risky shot by Taylor then. :4: It seems the wickets today are coming from really innocuous deliveries that are short and wide. Time is no issue, unless it is really there to be hit I'd prefer to see them left alone.
