Wesley will come right. He will be playing in the ZPL for Rainbow which is strongly believe will be a much bigger test and better competition. The 7 rounds should hopefully help him progress. He is a chicky boy but its a sign of his talent . his time will come and i think he may play a few List A games this year

Any dates for this yet?

If it is played during the UK summer, won't the standard be significantly reduced?

Baring any unforseen road blocks ZPL will start on the 2nd of July .Confirmations should be out this week and squads have been submitted with at least 4 national team players being required to play for each club. 7 rounds of cricket to determine who is the best in the land.

WALTER MAFEKING

MASVINGO - It was a piece of cake for Southern Rocks when they beat Matabeleland North by 315 for 9 in inaugural 40 Associate provincial competition at Masvingo Sports Club last weekend.Winning the toss, Mat North opted to bowl first leaving Magwenzi Lawrence and Chimbirimbiri Nelson to face opening overs from a fast pace bowler captain Kasonde Paul and Gunda Dennis.
In the first ten overs, Mat North appeared to be in total control of the game as the batting pair put 36 runs.
Auspiciously the run chase commenced as the partnership of Magwenzi L (55 for 53) and Chimbirimbiri N (54 for 40) gained confidence and displayed their skills hitting boundaries which enabled the team to improve in their economy rate.
Kasonde cut off the chase for a century for the opening pair, holding out leg stump from Magwenzi and an LBW (leg before wicket) for Chimbirimbiri.
Matanga Hillary also belted 55 runs off 49 balls before his target for a century was halted by Michael Nyoni.
However, tables turned gloomy for Mat North in their batting innings as they failed to chase 315 runs set by Southern Rocks as most of the batsmen joined duck parade producing no runs.
The run chase from opening partnership of Dingane Witness (0 off 19 balls) and Kawara Mikel (0 off 1 ball) started inauspiciously as it hurled no runs onto the score board in five overs.
Home team ripped through rivalry batsmen squad as Murove Douglas amassed eight wickets and two maidens whilst Hlupho Farai scooped two wickets.
Team Manager, Nomatter Mhangara said that he was delighted by the performance of the team as they easily defeated Mat North.
"Indeed the performance from the guys was absolutely stunning as they put in a lot of effort in consolidating their lead. I hope we will make it to the finals and win the title," said Mhangara after the match.
Mat north faced 9.3 overs reaching a total of 21 runs for 10 wickets.

Thanks for digging that up, Detective (and a lot else recently) :)

I'm rather tired right now, so I might be excused for at first thinking that the captain 'Matt North' had put Southern Rocks in.
