Well eugene prolly cant vote for trump as he's an immigrant. Mexicans are rapists, muslims hate America, blacks are thugs, and Kiwis are...ozzie imposters?

ODIs

Some new faces were required.

Muruma again ??? Mupariwa & Muzarbani I don't think should be in the plans for WC 2019 if Zim plays. Zim lacks long term vision and planning.

Sibanda, time and time he has failed. This has to be his last chance.

Why Jongwe is dropped when Maruma is included ??? This is shocking ! :o

Moor should keep wickets. Mutumbami has been awful with the bat. Chakabva is better than Mutumbami.

My XI:

1. Justice Chibhabha
2. Hamilton Masakadza
3. Craig Ervine
4. Sean Williams
5. Elton Chigumbura
6. Sikandar Raza
7. Peter Moor (WK)
8. Graeme Cremer (C)
9. Tendai Chatara
10. Donald Tiripano
11. Nevill Madziva

Reserve bat: Sibanda (Has to be his last chance)
Reserve All Rounders: Chisoro, Maruma (???)
Reserve spinner: W Masakadza
Reserve WK: Mutumbami (???)
Reserve pacers: Mupariwa (???), Muzarabani (???)

Recommendations:

1. In ODIs, Zimbabwe needs to groom & include some back up batsman, maybe U/19.

2. Jongwe should be in the long term plan. It's time Zimbabwe starts look beyond players like Maruma.

3. The pace trio of Chatara-Tiripano-Madziva looks potent. If they perform well, it should be permanent.

4. Pacers like Mupariwa, Muzarbani & Panyangara don't have age in their side to feature in next WC if Zim plays. It's time Zim unleashes some new pacers.

5. Moor should be the WK from now onwards.

6. Mire could have handy for Zim. Is he done playing for Zimbabwe ?

Identifying key players:

Ervine, Masakadza & Williams are the batting pillars of Zimbabwe.

The weak link may be the batting inconsistency of Chibhabha & Raza. That's why some backup batsmen are required.

Elton Chigumbura can add value specially with the bat & I feel can contribute to the team. Don't expect much from him from the ball.

Grame Cremer is vital. Wellington Masakadza can assist him in spin when the track is spin friendly.

The pace trio of Chatara-Tiripano-Madziva should be permanent, performance permitting. But some backup pacers are required.

Very thoughtful post Detective. You are correct when you say Williams, Ervine, and Hammy are our batting pillars. Beyond that it almost doesn't matter who we select to bat. Sibanda, Chibhabha, Raza, Chigs are all wildly inconsistent and we should just go with whoever has the hot hand, but realise it won't last. Chibhabha went through a purple patch, probably Sibanda's turn now. We can keep selecting different XIs and dropping Chibhabha for Sibanda etc but in the end we are just guessing, nothing really separates these guys and the only common denominator is inconsistency.

Moor deserves a shot at becoming our keeper who can be useful with the bat. I like Mutumbami but his form with bat and gloves has been shocking lately. Chakabva is a lost cause I feel, but who knows, he has a habit of standing up when you least expect it.

Chatara, Tiripano, and Madziva do indeed offer us the most hope with the ball, with Panyangara providing experience. Jongwe should be in the squad, and Maruma sent to Mars. Cremer is worldclass with the ball at the moment, and I have confidence in Wasakadza and Chisoro in backing him up. Nyumbu seems to have lost his drive to be great.

Let me add to the guessing game. I have only seen this level of disdain and negativity about everything in the setup (most of it, justifiably) - coupled with insider info earlier than others - in just one forum member. jimmylesaint. Is water melon his new avatar? Remember, jimmylesaint signed off his last post (which turned out to be not the last) as "WM", and water melon = "WM" too.

water melon = jimmylesaint?

The plot thickens...

watermelon certainly does seem to be an insider, or at least have a few connections. He has the foul temperament of a ZC employee.
