I guess we're all used to strange things happening by now, play has just got underway in Kwekwe with Zim XI having won the toss and asking Kenya to bat. cricinfo give the side as Rainsford, Kamungozi, Chibhabha, Jarvis, Chakabva, Kasteni, Maruma, Masakadza, Mutizwa, Mwakayeni & Nyumbu which means that the designated captain, Sibanda, has been left out along with Strydom, no captain appears to be showing at the moment while Mutizwa is the keeper.
Kenya seem to have got off to a comfortable start at 17-0 in the 5th over.
As far as Sibanda is concerned, i can only assume he is unable to play for some reason, why designate a captain, on his home ground, and then not play him ?

This side is giving me the creeps. I dont think there is enough batting power in there. Chibhabha has been having an off period in that department. Guess its surprises all around again. And Kenya have really got off to a flying start they are now 30/0 after 7 overs.

t RR Patel c Kasteni b Masakadza 14 (32b 3x4 0x6) SR: 43.75
Fall of wicket: 30/1 (7.6 ov); Partnership: 30 runs, 8.0 overs, RR: 3.75
dont panic just yet mayb the Kenyans are attacking to unsettle the bowlers but a few wickets will get us back on track

12.4 Odhiambo to Vermeulen, FOUR, that's an appalling long hop, Vermulen had plenty of time to get into position, drink a cup of tea, and pull the ball towards the long leg boundary- his first boundary today

Time for a change of bowling i think, give Jarvis the ball and see what the lad can do, with Maruma at the other end to see if there's any turn in the wicket. Must say that i thought we would be ok bowling wise with this XI, i'm worried about the batting myself.
Re: [Match Thread] Intercontinental Cup - Zimbabwe XI v Kenya
I think I can see this one being a draw. I think the Kenyans might be able to score some decent runs, but I think the likes of Chibhabha, Kasteni, Mutizwa & Maruma can also fill their boots.
