No. It’s Muyeye.
Walter was a decent offie, let his batting slip a bit, and a good captain. He was at Eastbourne for two years and was made head boy. He’s a damned fine young man. I think he’s left and probably at Uni in the UK.
This Muyeye lad is the real deal, I promise you. Ex Peterhouse. He can really play.

This kid wants to play pro cricket, practices hard and has an abundance of talent. He’s done well for Sussex Two’s as well, and now we’re talking a high level of cricket for a schoolboy.
Last year in the Johns T20 festival I think he got 4 centuries on the trot, including 170 in one innings. That’s serious hitting, but he’s got the longer game as well.

Chigs and Moor if he doesn't get his act together.jaybro wrote: ↑Fri Oct 05, 2018 6:15 amHow many youngsters to do you want in the XI Zimbo_05?? And which experienced guys are you ready to turf?
Interesting to see what your ideal XI looks like with the blended youth ??
Comparing Zimbabwe playing Kamunhukamwe or Murray against South Africa on these pitches to India debuting Prithniv Shaw against that Windies side on that pitch is a joke surely?? You’re taking the piss right?
If Zimbabwe had someone like Shaw in their ranks he’d be playing every game, Shaw is a freak. But they’ve found the best way possible to blood him, this Windies side would lose to Zimbabwe (Roach & Holder out) they suck and this pitch they’re on is as flat as you will get.
Apples with apples please

I’ll help you out with the Aussie lingo from the perspective of western Sydney at least.Kriterion_BD wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 10:33 pmStirling being a fat cunt would also be a pejorative in the US but according the Matt LeBlanc (Joey from Friends) Brits use cunt in a very different context, I'm guessing Aussies do too.
When I’m in the U.S they get a good laugh from this and when I drop it like it’s nothing.
Cunt= many contexts depending on the rest of the convo. Could just be a term of reference. Could mean prick, could me a a friend, could just mean person.

Yeah in America the C word is a huge no no in any context. Just a difference of culture.ZIMDOGGY wrote: ↑Sun Oct 07, 2018 11:55 amI’ll help you out with the Aussie lingo from the perspective of western Sydney at least.Kriterion_BD wrote: ↑Wed Oct 03, 2018 10:33 pmStirling being a fat cunt would also be a pejorative in the US but according the Matt LeBlanc (Joey from Friends) Brits use cunt in a very different context, I'm guessing Aussies do too.

He’s got one more year of school so that should put him at 17, but he may be 18. Top player, as good as we’ve had for a long time.jaybro wrote: ↑Sun Oct 07, 2018 8:58 amHow old is he?Googly wrote: ↑Sun Oct 07, 2018 8:39 amThis kid wants to play pro cricket, practices hard and has an abundance of talent. Let’s hope to see him in the under 19’s side and possibly some domestic cricket this year.
How’s Milton Shumba going Googly??? He seemed to be the new kid in the block but you said last time he seemed to be dropping off a bit?

Re: [Match Thread] Zimbabwe vs South Africa, 2nd ODI
I think Muyeye has another year of school in the UK. I don’t know his plans but as it stands there is no point in him committing to any cricket here. There’s a deafening silence on all aspects of the supposed ZC recovery plan and the players with options will/should exercise them until there’s some confidence in how things are run and the opportunities going forward. The master slave mentality won’t work with the really good youngsters with options. The sad thing is ZC don’t care, they have their future funds guaranteed for the next few years and that’s good enough for them. Out of the several good young players overseas, to my knowledge only Muyeye has had comms with ZC, the others have not seriously been approached to find out what’s their plans are or to offer them a pathway here. ZC continues to vaguely hope that a local lad will emerge as a world beater and it won’t happen because of our structures. At best the current system will continue to produce marginal FC players that wouldn’t make the FC grade in another country, but here they stand a chance of playing international cricket, and we will be whining about how bad our cricket is until we eventually become an associate and cricket ends. That is going to happen under the current administration.
The reality is that as it stands it’s better to go to university if you have the option and to forget about a cricket career here. How is a young guy going to survive here? Here’s the current pathway- some years in FC with pitifully few games earning practically nothing and if you can get through that and make some runs and eventually get a contract for not a lot of money and run the risk of Zim being downgraded and you end up at the age of 25-30 with no qualifications and no future whatsoever? It’s not an option if you have a choice.
I’ve watched young Shumba and he typifies the problem- some ability, some technical flaws that have not been addressed and he will never get the games or the coaching required to make him more than the type of player I’ve mentioned. He should be plundering runs at schoolboy level and he isn’t. Even with some glitches a kid with a good eye should be making consistent hundreds against the bowling on offer here just by playing percentage shots and grinding it out and no one seems able to do it with any regularity. I’d guarantee that Muyeye would get a big hundred at least every second game if he was here after what he’s learnt in England.
It’s a sad state of affairs.
