Zimbabwe XI to Play South Africa "A"
Re: Zimbabwe XI to Play South Africa "A"
Ervine and Williams need to step up in T20s. I think with Tony Munyonga looking good they can be dropped. Regis coming back will boost the batting further.

Ervine needs to open in this format. Williams I still back to be good. I’m happy to have both in the T20 lineup as long as we have hitters around them. Ervine and Marumani is potentially a perfect opening combo

Results do matter as performance gives boost and open doors for a performer in the national side.
I dont think Zim have ever chased 200+ in T20s at any level. Neither the players know that art of chasing big totals in T20.This type of tracks will be expected in qualifiers as ICC promoted T20Is as batsman game with thrilling finish through flat tracks.

I’m going to say this would be our 15 if the qualifier was starting right now;
Ervine, Marumani, Chakabva, Williams, Shumba, Madhevere, Raza, Burl, Munyonga, Masakadza, Muzarabani, Ngarava, Nyauchi, Chatara, Jongwe
Which I think honestly is good enough to qualify. Main concerns would be around a backup for Welly and a backup for Chakabva, but there’s no one else in the squad I’d want to sacrificed just to add in Mavuta or Madande at this point.
A lot can still happen over the next month or two so let’s see what happens

Zimbabwe needs energetic captain to lift the team and Sikandar Raza is the right guy to lead this team in the qualifiers. He has more experience in T20 Cricket and have played nearly every T20 leagues, has got better understanding of the format.Chatara should'nt make into the qualifiers squad just because of experience, a domestic performer could take his place. Venom is misssing from his bowling and there is also huge drop in his pace. He is no more getting advantage of his unusual bowling action because of drop in pace.
