Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
To explain how I started looking for answers, initially, I thought we are referring to the NZ v Zim match of the 1987 CWC where Houghton pulled off a miracle with Iain Butchart. That was because I thought you had "wrongly" assumed that Doug and John Bracewell were son and father
. So, I thought Butchart's father might have been an administrator. But never got any info about him. Then, my attention turned towards those guys who played very less cricket for Zim, but happened to play vs NZ. Took a lot of exploration

454. This man, who has links to Scotland and Zambia, has played first class cricket only in Zimbabwe. Who is he?

No attempts? The guy in picture has precisely one catch to showcase his FC record.

Looks like this is the most desperate attempt to create a question ever, even with the history of this thread
The guy is still in Africa, if you needed further clues.

I have absolutely no idea. If you say "in Zimbabwe", does that mean he's played for a non-Zimbabwean side touring in Zim, or an anonymous stint with one of the franchises?

The latter. He did play in one of our FC teams.foreignfield wrote:does that mean he's played for a non-Zimbabwean side touring in Zim, or an anonymous stint with one of the franchises?

Re: Zimbabwe Cricket Photo Quiz
There are a few white players who have played franchise but not really made a mark in FC cricket. There are those with a grand total of 3 FC runs, and there are those who have only played List A ... I'm getting really desperate. Was the catch taken as a sub??? Just to thrown in a name: Alex Smith???

I should have made that clear. It was the old provincial cricket, at the turn of the millennium...gargamel wrote:Franchise Cricket or the Old Provincial Cricket
No, he has played an FC match, and the catch is the only noticeable thing he has achieved in it.foreignfield wrote:Was the catch taken as a sub???
