I would advocate an SOS call to B curran or nick welch but i doubt this will happen pre world cup.

And if Madande gets injured during the qualifiers what happens? Going into a tournament of such importance without us ever seeing if the backup keeper can actually keep is very very dangerous. Marumani is not a natural keeper. This will be a tournament of very fine margins like we saw in 2018.

There is no harm in Madande fielding for a 1 game and Marumani taking the gloves. How can that possibly be a bad thing? I never said Madande should be dropped. Marumani will only make this squad as the backup keeper. His actual batting is nothing to talk about at the moment

This youth brigade narrative is going to fall flat in people's faces at the worst possible time. There is a certain level of risk that is just not acceptable. These kids have got over 15 years of cricket left. There is no need to risk a whole tournament based on potential. Once a mistake like that is exposed at the biggest stage Houghton and co could lose a lot of trust and goodwill.
