I am looking forward to seeing Jakiel land an IPL contract. His death bowling is a thing of wonder.

watermelon here,

i was motivated to revive this ZCF-favourite thread due to current events. With Chigumbura's defeat confirmed, it seems that the Cremer/Streak axis have moved on to marginalising Regis Chakabva. Batting him out of position, making him keep wicket, these guys are clearly playing with his mind and hoping he will crumble. The reason for this you lesser minds may ask? To clear a path for Brendan Taylor's return! Taylor is a mediocre keeper and has largely failed on his overseas jaunt so his return to the squad is hardly guaranteed. The best way to guarantee his return is to destroy his competition, which at the moment is Regis.

Interesting reasoning. Maybe, maybe not but everyone including neutrals clearly criticised having Regis open and a non-bowling non-keeping Moor at 7. In fact I think they made him bat higher than a more in form Malcolm to reduce the embarassment they were faced with.

Having said all of that Zimbabwe are spin-heavy these days(Cremer, Raza, Williams, Malcolm, Mushangwe, Wellington, Burl, Chisoro). Secondly they now have Afghanistan to contend with, plus a number of matches they will get against sides like SL, BD and WI who are either on their level or just above. They have pitches will dictate that Zimbabwe are spin-heavy in Tests more often than not. So that rules out Taylor because Zimbabwe will be in the field for 150 overs on average. Streak and Cremer would be foolish to think Taylor would be up to doing that consistently, neither are his keeping skills up to a level that would give even his friend Cremer confidence when he bowls. So Regis is safe. Very safe considering the next in line are Mutumbami and Moor (if they still want to even call him a keeper)

It's interesting to note that the match winning team from the first ODI in Sri Lanka would not have been allowed to be fielded if It was South Africa who require 6 players of "colour" . We had Burl Waller Williams Ervine Cremer and Moor. With Raza Mire Chatara Hami and I think Ngarava making up the players of "colour" contingent. Who would have ever thought the Proteas would have a stricter quota policy than us? Taylor coming back would make things interesting. I think the admin are in survival mode and threw all their stupid racially biased ideas out the window for that 94 million

We don't play here. If they miss the target Gert Oosthuizen(dep Sports Min - SA), the Director General of Sports get an earful from us and they'll be turned into fools in Parliament on live TV when they give their reports and presentations. If they ar eunder fire they make sure that sport's boss (e.g. Lorgat CSA) is thrown under the bus. As things stand the shave missed the target. We don't care if Rabada was because Phehlukwayo was in the squad. They will have have to make up the numbers.

This is why I wonder what's wrong with Zim fans. They all make noise plenty of noise on Facebook, but very little on the ground. We're more organised, plus nobody knows me, and the results are there to see. I punt an African cricketer 12 months ahead, and if he is not around the Proteas or the A side then we'll have problems.

Equal treatment of unequal people is unequal. It's unfair!

If we don't have this "bias" then players like Ngidi and Phehlukwayo would have never been selected. And guess what, they've been brilliant!

If I was Australian a lot more Kurtly Beales and Fainga'as would be playing rugby and cricket trust me. ;)

Don't need quotas here bud, sides get picked on merit not on colour ;)

Hhm there wouldn't be more Kurtley Beatles because the aboriginals all play NRL and afl.
The Comp is littered with them.

Two years ago Greg Inglis was the most destructive rugby player of any code in the world.

Ah sports for thugs!

They could migrate disciplines - WWE vs TNA type of thing? :|

NB: You should read up on the history of how Afrikaners were treated in cricket by the "Englishmen".

Chakabva was again sabotaged by being forced to open again at the expense of his more rested teammates. Moor has been removed as a keeper to take the spotlight of him and to sell him as a batsman only. Regis is now the sacrificial lamb who will have to make way for Taylor when he returns from his failed English stint.
