Hami and Williams have a good outing. They should back up tomorrow and then be in the team on Thursday. If this occurs then it is a decent squad and we have a chance. If it doesn't we have a crappy squad and next to no chance.

The squad doesn't need a back up keeper as we are at home not on tour. A keeper can be drafted in no dramas if there is an injury or whatever.

Yeah I have to admit much as I hate too but Hami and Williams are still good enough to make the best XI.

This is how you look up his progress.
I'm astounded at how many teams he has played for since coming to oz? Every new team played for is recorded as a separate entry. Click to see stats when you go to the site

This fitness test stuff is a joke. Sounds like the work of "The Professors"... ridiculous.
Cricket is for cricketers, not athletes. I wonder how many fitness tests WG Grace or Inzamam would pass.

Yes but look at the Indians and the Aussies all their players are fit and firing. The game might not look like it's about fitness but when you're fatigued you can't think or focus as well. So batting at the end or bowling at the death becomes increasingly harder if you're not fit. Or even fielding .....

Just a thought, but we are all suspecting the selectors are going to add 2 batsman to the squad ! Maybe they're adding 1 batsman and 1 seamer ?

There already seems to be a lot of batsman in the squad but we're a bit light on bowling especially if Mire and Chigs aren't bowling ......

Great to see Chigs in the team, although I fear this is a final chance for Streak and his muppet Cremer to humiliate him one more time by batting him down the order and failing to utilise his matchwinning bowling. A captain with a bit more nous than Cremer would know how to get the best out of his players, notice how much the team has fallen away since he took over? Cremer's captaincy makes Brendan Taylor look like Steve Waugh.

I think fitness is very important in modern day cricket although some players are too talented to leave out. the ability to steal singles and frequently rotate the strike is critical in limited overs cricket these days and we have been struggling in the last few years in that department. for example a team with elite athletes would then be able to score one boundary an over in a t20 complimented with 4 singles and you already looking at the 160/170 mark.a guy like Hami deals in boundaries and when they aren't flowing he gets nervous and plays a nothing shot. that's why when he is out of form he struggles badly. a guy like raza will just keep the score ticking and can score a 25 or 30 even when he is not in the best of form.. a bowler to me definitely needs to have athletic ability especially a fast bowler in a test match.

its definitely too late to change the senior players but they must be tough on the younger guys to make sure they build that work ethic.

You, as usual, seem to forget about those other two evil racist captains that didn't use Chigumbura as a bowler, now what were their names? oh yes, Masakadza and Chigumbura
